Glad I'm not the only one. I'm insulin resistant and meats and salads keep me healthy, unfortunately, who has time to cook!? I've gained 7 of the 25 I'd lost. Very annoying.

On the upside, I'm doing well in class. Maybe it's all related :)

LOL! If it wasn't for my hubby cooking, I would never eat. :rotfl:

Hey, onehusbandseven kids!! You took the exam and almost did perfectly????!!!???? That is SO awesome!! I'm so glad you went! Hope you are feeling better!!

Hey, guys, how's it going? Let's not lose this good A&P thread!! You can post anything relating to A&P here ... comments, questions, moaning, test results, anything!!!

Today we had our first bones lab ... kind of a LOT of material! Thankfully when the prof went by our table we somehow discovered that the skeleton chapters in the text are basically for labs only and we need to skip a couple for lectures .... wait, did that just make sense? I slipped in a "the lectures really help" and realized after he walked away that I sounded like I was really sucking up so my seatmate and I got the giggles ... lol but I really wasn't!!

Anyway ............................... hope everyone is doing great! I think we are mostly swamped, am I right?

:) So you're dying to hear whiny A&P stuff...well, here it is: I swear my instructor is senile!!!!! We had lab today and he lectured the same stuff that he did last Tues, about stuff that he said will not be on the test....and he insisted that he told us to know something about neurons in chapter 20 something but he never told us this info before.... this happens every time, he says he said something and then he didn't. I am recording him. Same with his tests, he asks things that he didn't cover and never told us about. It's totally crazy and totally disfunctional He is senile! There just is no other way to put it. We are so depressed. :crying2:

Ugh, that's awful! It is so frustrating when the prof is inconsistent and going around in circles. So what is your approach to studying for this and how many tests have you had? Maybe this is something he is not aware of which would be really sad .. I think it's a good idea to record him. Are any of you at the point of compiling evidence against him?

On another note, our faculty are currently in a labour dispute but so far classes are continuing ........... ARGH .... I hope they don't strike .. why would they have to wait until I'm at school to do it? (yeah, it's all about me lol)

Many prayers and posiitive thoughts coming your way!

Oh my, your situation is terrible also....we don't need that kind of stress....

The situation with my prof is very sad since we do believe that he is not doing any of this on purpose. He has a good heart and is always friendly and polite, and he seems to get it that people get frustrated with his questions on the test and forgetfulness. You can tell that he is not happy about that. He lets me photocopy his transparancies and it is helping since he scribbles stuff of importance next to the pics. I guess I just need to be patient with him and keep him talking.....I found that he reveals most of what he unintentionally keeps from us while I am communicating with him. Thank god for my personality? :uhoh21: I am very bubbly and inquisitive.

He is too old that's just it! I have the highest grade in his class with a 85 in lecture and 87 in lab....it's so sad! But I will keep trying do my very best.

I hope that the situation at your school does not interfere with your classes and quality. If it's not one thing then it is another!

You hang in there and stay in touch.... In the meantime I will keep talking my prof through his senior citizen moments and hopefully everything works out in the end :uhoh21:

:chuckle

Swamped is right. Our lab practical is the 18th and I've only just gotten the anterior, lateral and some of the inferior view of the skull down. I woke up reciting all the parts of the mandible and it was involuntary. Very odd.

Our lecture exam is the 13th. I'll have my head in my book all weekend!

Have a great night everyone.

So what's up for today? I've already had my meltdown for the day as the clothes I put in the dryer last night were nowhere to be found and the kids have been just throwing dirty clothes all over the place ... plus a lightbulb was burned out, the kids' rooms were horrible, etc. etc. I eventually found the clothes and they are now all wrinkly, of course ... argh. My family IS very supportive but they are not getting the housework thing at all and I don't find it fair that unless I organize them, they can't do it. I'm not a perfect housekeeper (or consistent in delegating chores) in the first place so that's maybe the problem but .. yuck, don't need to deal with it right now, kwim? What I'm saying is, it's likely all my fault but I still get to whine about it! LOL

This a.m. I have to finish the chapter for lecture on bones. The skeletal system chapters are mainly just for lab and next week we are jumping into joints (no drugs involved lol). I am enjoying it and feel like I'm "getting it" but not retaining everything. My friend and I are meeting at the lab after class to go over some more bones so that should be fun. I really wanted to do more last night and this a.m. but my brain shut down .. and I watched Survivor and the Apprentice .. when I obviously should have been doing laundry.

This weekend I have to concentrate on another course between trying to keep up on the A&P reading. Ah well.

Hope everyone is having a good day!! Dh just brought me a coffee so I'm sitting here for a minute to calm down before hitting the bath and then the books!

Hey, that http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/home_pa...anBiodyssey.htm site that mattsmom64 posted looks GREAT!!

just found this thread so I wanted to sub. to it.

My school's semester just started on the 26th of Sept. so I just completed my first 2 weeks of A&P, so far so good. But I'm sure it will be getting more difficult, but this thread gives some good pointers and help.

Welcome!!! Are you taking any other courses? I know you will enjoy posting here! It is awesome that there is always someone who can answer the questions we have .. it's great to have the extra help! I look foward to talking to you lots!

Now ....... I've got to quit dragging my heels and get off to the university where I can actually concentrate on my school work rather than my stupid house and surfing the 'net! Take care!
