Well, I'm not sure how you would study. Possibly go to your school's library & see if they have books with pics of autopsy photos, etc.

Is your exam on paper, or computer? Obviously, if it is on paper, he will have to have drawings or something for you to label in order to identify certain muscles, or give you a location in words, and you have to identify from that. Maybe you could search for "Anatomy, muscles, worksheet, label" or something like that.

This page may help:

http://www.nursingjourney.com/muscle_locations_help.htm. I'm not sure.....Maybe try this one:

http://biology.unm.edu/anatomy/ppt.htm

One thing that also helped me was to point at where a muscle was on myself & name it. (My then 7 yr old also helped me with that...lol)

Ask your instructor what he recommends as a study method. It never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the compliment, btw. I hope my site helps you some other time. :)

Our tests are all on paper. He'll use slide shows for tests. Our last bone test was matching bone to body part kind of thing. Manubrium (spelling?) to sternum.

He really wants us to know the muscles on our bodys and function

What's up for A&P this weekend?

I am finishing reading the chapter on the Integumentary system and then trying to do some review on the other chapters we have already covered and prepare for the lab I didn't finish last week on histology. My friend and I are going in for several extra hours in the lab this week and hopefully I'll feel a little more comfortable and no more headaches!

I'm not sure when I'm supposed to get to my other courses!!

That's exactly how mine is, too. But I only get four credits, as well. As much work as it is, I almost expect it to be 6, though!

LOL - no kidding! I can relate!

We are working on histology this week. I am a little more concerned about it than the previous units, but hopefully, if I just dedicate a little more time to studying it, it will all sink in. ;)

Best of luck, Sarah! I'm sure you will do fine. I just found it very overwhelming at first but it likely didn't help that I had a headache!

I'm heading to the university shortly to finish reading my chapter. I just can't concentrate with the house distractions. There is a music group (a gospel quartet from NC) parked outside our house in their motorhome until later this aft ... and while they're not actually singing right now, Dh (did some of their promotions) wants them in here so badly to have coffee and the messy house is really distracting me and participating in any clean up is distracting me ... LOL ...... so I'm heading to the U where it's safe haha. He's bringing me a cup of coffee and driving me in a minute. :chuckle My life is fun!

Thanks - I sure hope so. ;)

Aaah - sounds good - peace and quiet. Enjoy it! I hope you get some good quality studying done while you're there.

Oi yoi yoi .. bones this week ...

We just whipped through the integumentary system in today's lecture, which I knew we would as it didn't take that much to go through it on my own.

So before next lecture I need to make a good start on the next chapter. The lab this week looks pretty intense as well, with the beginning of all the bones. Every so often they make it sound really scary! LOL!

My friend and I were at the lab before the Monday lab (not ours) started, catching up on the tissues and figuring out what else we needed to do to get caught up so we heard the lab lecture and I have the slides from the lab.

In addition to the bones, they have a tissue review ... I think we are going to do that on Wednesday, before our lab on Thursday because, sheesh, I don't know how we could fit it all into the lab time and feel good about it. Of course, the lab instructor pointed out that staying and memorizing the bones in the lab wasn't really necessary and you could do much of the work at home. What we have been doing is working through the lab exercises at home on our own anyway so we can actually understand what's going on in lab.

It seems a frantic pace but I know it's nothing compared to the more condensed courses.

Anyway, tonight I have to concentrate on my OTHER courses, as well as attend a church executive meeting. Dh is out of town. Bah.

My dd's just went to get some Chinese food for supper ... and it's not even Gilmore Girls night .....

LOL - no kidding! I can relate!

Thursday we are having a test on,skeletal system, joints, muscles system, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Also, the practical for lab. I am worried  . Hopefully it won't be that bad, wish me luck!!!

Of course - best of luck! I hope it goes smoothly for you. Probably it sounds more intimidating than it will turn out to be. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you do well. ;)

Good luck!! Happy studying!

Today I'm starting to work on the skeletal system and our test isn't until the end of October.

The skeletal system will be my weekend project. I printed copies of the skull labs from my Holes lab book and I'm just going to do them over and over and over. Hopefully the bookstore has a good chart or flash cards. I'll be staying in this weekend. LOL.

Has anyone gained weight since starting these courses!? No time to cook a decent meal! (Off topic, sorry)

:)

That's the way I am too. A month goes by so fast - you think you have all this time and then, all of a sudden, the deadline sneaks up on you. Best to get a jump start whenever possible. ;)
