Congratulations on the GREAT scores!! We are slightly behind you ... we are starting joints next week! Yeah, kinda sick that you were hungry while looking at the disections but very funny and hopefully meaning you have the stomach to be a nurse and not that you will want to eat your patients! :rotfl:Hey guys!I'm 6 wks. into my A&P and am loving it SO much more than Micro.!! Just finished my first lecture and lab exams and got 98% on both of them, which was very encouraging!
We're currently on joints in lab and just started muscles in lecture. Today, in lab, we looked at the knee joint on a cadaver, as well as a separate knee joint (by itself, not attached to a cadaver). You know how I know I'm meant to be an RN?
While we were looking at the dissected knees, I was thinking about how HUNGRY I was for lunch!! How SICK is that?!
LOL
By the way, I'm a dental hygienist and nursing will be a second career for me.

Are you taking any other courses and are you still working as a dental hygenist while you go to school?

Don't worry, I won't be eating any patients (although it does all look like chicken anyway!)
No, I'm not taking any other courses this semester, other than A&P I lecture and lab. Yes, I'm still working FT as a hygienist. :wink2:

Want to know something really stupid?? I have been just wandering through the links from my text book site. While the text itself and the study tips/tests/drills there are very good, the links it lists are absolutely pathetic!! Many of them do not work once you get to the site and some of them are so amateur it's ridiculous! I definitely would have thought that a good text would be a little more up on their connecting links, kwim?
Disappointing! It's not like I'm starved for extra links or reviews (in fact, I'll never make it through all of them in this course's lifetime lol) but, sheesh!
OH and (direct link from my text's site) I did find a really nice economy skeleton with organs (!!) for the low, low price of $2,925.75 ... leaning toward the disarticulated painted skeleton for $649 though. Yeah, right. Hi ho hi ho, it's back to the lab I go! (next week, that is) I was saying to my lab partner, it WOULD be kind of nice to have a little skeleton in my closet though.
Hee hee just having fun here ........ getting a little stir crazy, I'm afraid! It likely started with Angel talking chicken bones! Gonna be some innnnnnnnnnteresting dreams tonight ...
I bought my "Lil' Man" on Ebay. I "dismantled" him & had my "bag of bones" to study from. LOL
To learn the organs, I just used pics of the models, etc.
Here's my "Lil' Man" lol

LMBO!! Sorry, Karen. I think we all gotta be a little weird, if we're gonna be future RN's. You have to be demented to be in the medical field anyway, right? LOL
Still procrastinating studying today.....

Okay I need to vent a little bit.We had our 1st lecture exam on Monday, got them back on Wednesday. I got a 81 on mine, but the class average was 67.89 A LOT of people got upper 50's lower 60's.....
But this is the kicker....we can correct our exam, with 3-5 sentances (instead of just the answer is "B") and receive 1/2 credit. This basically mean, if you got a 60, and you correct every answer you got wrong, you will end up with an 80. So these people can raise their grade by 2 letter scores...from a D to a B.
I, being that I got an 81, can only raise mine 9.5 points. From a B to an A. Now I know, an 81 is a great score, compared to these other scores. but I dont find it fair that they can go from a D to a B and I can only go up 1 letter grade....
I also wonder, if now, people will just assume that they will always be able to correct for 1/2 credit and wont study as much as they should/would if we didnt know we can do this. She did not say we could do this with every exam, but I'm going to guess some will study less.
Just irritates me that I busted my butt studying to get the 81, and now people who originally had D's can have the same score as me!

If the teacher is making it possible for them to raise thier grade by two letters then I think you should get extra credit for the ones you correct. I think that's only fair. OH, and way to go on setting the curve. Good Job!
LOL cute! How much? Hey, how do you post pictures in the body of your posts? I have found what I thought was the code and it says in my "posting rules" that imaging is turned off .. how do I turn it on? Maybe this is a dumb question and I'm just not seeing something?? Thanks for any input!I bought my "Lil' Man" on Ebay.
I'm definitely procrastinating today.
