Hi.
This fall I am currently taking A&P 1, Nutrition and Chemistry. This is 11 credit hours. I go to school, 4 days a week, Tuesday being my only long day. I'm not working and have no kids/spouse. So basically my whole day is free after school.
Today before A&P I was talking with a few people from my class, and one girl remarked that I shouldn't be taking the classes I am because chemistry is so hard, and I should drop it. It really made me feel like crap, as if I've bitten off more than I could chew. I know I should just ignore her, but for the last week I have been worrying myself that I am doing too much. So far it seems like I have been overreacting and it's not that bad, but it could get worse. I just wish she would have shut up, UGh.
Has anyone taken these classes together and been fine, and not stressed out?
Thanks. She kind of put me back in the dumps.

Its very doable. Just make sure you understand the material and stay caught up with the reading. I took Physiology, Microbiology, and Chem 1 all in the same semester and survived. Good luck to you.

I'm personally not taking those courses yet...just the A&P. I do have a good friend however who is taking all 3 of those courses and working full time. She's doing just fine...she stays on task and structures her study time. I'm taking 5 classes right now and overwhelmed but again making sure to keep up with homework, assignments, and study time is key. Don't let a negative Nelly get to you...WHAT does she have to base that on for you personally? Nothing.... march on....

i am too taking a&p 1, chem 121 and a writing class beginning the 21st!! i am a bit scared, but know that if i just dedicate my time to studying, it will all work out!! you can do it too! i have seen tons of posts by people who have 40 hr/week jobs, plus children and are taking the same classes!! i will be working 4 shifts a week, and have class m-f, my a&p class only meeting twice a week. so i have to do some planning.
i found this book, "getting ready for ap" and it is an awesome tool to help you figure out how to manage your time and studying. it made me feel really confident about the class and my schedule. i already have my days planned out, and have set aside a chunk of time each day for studying (we'll see how true i stick to my schedule! :wink2:)
i think the trick is to manage your time and no cramming! and of course, lots of studying, and not just a couple times a week, but every day! sounds grueling, but you won't be the only one. you have all of us in the same boat! good luck and don't let anyone EVER tell you that you can't do something! because you can! :heartbeat

Could you post the exact URL of that book? Perhaps from Amazon?
Thanks!

I did Chemistry, A&P II, and a Math class. It wasn't that bad. It will get a lot harder when you start nursing school.

I am taking Chem I, Nutrition, Developmental Psychologoy and Microbiology......
If I can do it, any of you sure as heck can. It just takes dedication and hard work.
You can do anything you set your mind to. You are intelligent. You are strong. Please do not give anyone power over you. Remember, your classmates are your competitors, not your friends. If they can knock you down all the better for them.
When I sit down to study, I pretend I am preparing for the supwe bowl and the other team is.......my classmates. I am out to eradicate them....

It shouldn't be a problem. I took those exact classes last spring, but mine were 12 credit hours instead of 11. I have a family with kids so if I could get an A in all of them, so can you!

Here it is! I actually found it at Goodwill and have read quite a bit of it, though I'm not taking A&P until January.
