  1. Re: hangingclimbs, Please keep us posted on what you find out and what school is right for you! I work as a Web/Graphic Designer and I am very curious as to where you end up as I'm thinking about changing industries to Nursing/Healthcare. Best of Luck!
  2. Do you know the URLs or Post Titles of those posts? I am currently a Web/Graphic Designer with 3 years of working experience and I am very curious about Nursing Informatics. Is there a resource I can go to for researching Nursing Informatics? i.e. What programming languages do I need to know? Who designs the GUI of medical software?
  3. I think they raised their minimum GPA requirement from 2.5 to 3.0!
  4. Do you know if you can only get scholarships? What about low-interest loans? Or a Sugar Mama? :redbeathe
  5. Some schools have a min. GPA of 2.5 while most schools have min. GPA of 3.0
  6. I too am very curious as to the right amount of healthcare experience for applying. For example, a nursing school representative told me that 10 years of accounting experience is not as important as x years of healthcare experience.
  7. Thanks for that insight. Talking to current students is a great idea! How did you meet or come across current students? Would the nursing staff provide you their contact info? Or perhaps facebook is a good avenue.
  8. Does anyone know the cost for the NYU accelerated BSN program?
  9. I was wondering the same thing. I'm not sure if nursing schools are really ranked- nor care as much- as medical schools are ranked though.
  10. So I'm guessing you didnt graduate? You dropped out soph year?
  11. Could you share with us the URL of these wonderful youtube resources? thanks!
  12. In my humble opinion, stat is really practice, practice, and practice. The more you do math, the easier it gets because you stop analyzing the problem and start doing it. Also, take full advantage of your school's math tutoring lab!
  13. Thank you so much for this awesome list. Will we get to see the N-Z list?

I'm sure California has a bunch of community colleges (jucos) that offer RN, CNA, or other associates degree Nursing degrees. You could start there and then do a RN-BSN program. Based on everything i've seen on this site and researching online, that seems to be a cost-effective method.
  15. How much does the scholarship give you? My main hesitation with Georgetown Accelerated BSN program is the cost- the total tuition for this program is approximately $68,000. Source: official Georgetown Univ. School of Nursing Chat. A RN/BSN starting salary is $20-$25/hr so paying back student loans would be a burden. Doctors can afford to take on loads of student debt because their starting salaries are around $80-$200/hr.
