Whyyyyyy do I not have a bathroom in my clinic (or even a sink) but the book keeper has bothfl in her office?!?

This is so inconvenient, I have to fill up a water pitcher for medications multiple times a day!!! And keep ice in a cooler for ice packs!!

Advice???

Switch offices. I'm sure you could come up with enough infection control documentation to compel moving you to a room with running water, at least. That's pretty bizarre all and all. Honestly, that's the first time I've heard of such a thing.

I'm new and it's only my first week...i don't joy know if switching offices is an option. I don't want to make a big stink.

No bathroom I understand, but no sink or any form of running water? How would I wash out kids' cuts/eyes etc!?

The nurse's office where I work used to be in another room that only had a sink, no bathroom. I'm glad to have a bathroom, but the trade off is I'm on the 2nd floor. I can't imagine not have any running water. That's crazy!

My office is in the basement. I call it my cave and I can feel pretty isolated. But, I do have a connected private washroom. Our building is being renovated this summer and they wanted to move me upstairs. I was excited until I saw the plan and that I would no longer have an attached private washroom. Nope, nope, nope. I emailed our school director my concerns (with supporting evidence about the need for the washroom) about the floor plan and she listened. I'll still be in basement so I can keep that bathroom, but my office may also get a bit of a spruce up.

So, really, you never know if you don't ask. Support your claim and need for that bathroom. You may get it.

but a sink - oh no -i'd never be without a sink. I'd inquire into that. Hand sanitizer isn't an acceptable replacement for a sink for a nurse's office.

I'm already fighting an uphill battle against kids who just want to use alcohol pads to clean cuts. No! Go use soap and warm water! If I didn't have a readily available sink it would be that much worse!

I have a sensor activated sink in the clinic part of my office. Last year, apparently ghosts were setting it off because it would run at random times and there was no turning it off. The custodians replaced it and it kept happening. They wanted to install a regular 2 handle, turn the water on type of sink, but they were told that, by law, the nurse's office had to have a hands free sink. No ghosts so far this year...

Yeah I don't have either- it stinks! We are renting space in a building for at least another full school year after this one so I just have to deal. I use a LOT of hand sanitizer and walk down the hall to the bathroom all the time. PITA. And did I mention my office is carpeted???
