I didn't know this was a thing. I have about 5 teachers taking personal days for the second half of the day so they can go get their kids to go trick or treating because it's only 2-6pm by them. And I guess my office staff is expecting a rush in a little bit for the same reason...

I don't remember anyone ever leaving school early on halloween, but is this really a thing everywhere?

hmm...I wanna go home early! But alas, our trick or treat is from 6-8:(

We are able to leave after our students are gone for the day for people who do not have to clock in. I am able to leave a little early to be with my kids today, I do not know if any of our certifieds are taking half days/full days.

Never heard of or felt the need to leave early. People start trick or treating around 4:30 at the earliest to about 8ish, depending on age.

I don't think this is standard practice in my district BUT the kindergarten teacher at our tiny Montessori Elementary where my kids attend has taken a personal day on November 1st every year for the last 10 years. Smart woman.

I wish I could call out tomorrow ugh

We have about 1/2 our kiddos absent today! My school is only K-2 so my guess is they are all exhausted and sick from too much sugar!

I love you people. And I'm taking off next Halloween because...it's a thing, right?

Oh, wait, no. I'll still be screening. Alas.

Haha! I have never heard of that nor my professors has done that during my time in nursing school! Wish it was a holiday that allowed us to be off! LOL
