Hi everyone... I go to CCRI

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

I'm a student at CCRI in Rhode Island, I've finished all of my pre-req's.... and Micro... and everything else... and have been told I'm an "alternate for 2008." Just looking for anyone else that goes to CCRI or knows any more about the Merit Based Applications than I do!

welcome and good luck on getting in this year

Good luck to you!

I was admitted as a merit based applicant to Flanagan evening/weekend program starting this fall. Criterias are posted on CCRI website; it includes GPA (A's in certain subjects being more valuable), TEAS scores and Accuplacer reading score. I don't know what the cut-off points ended up being for the above criterias as CCRI has very little transparency in these matters.

I wish you best of luck!

I have also been accepted as an alternate for 2008...very frustrating, but I'm also happy that I got a "maybe". Anyway, I spoke with someone in the Office of Enrollment Services and they were very vague as to the possibility of starting this fall. I was told to go ahead and register for my classes and if a spot opens up, then I can drop the classes. I really wish things were more clear. I guess we just have to "hang in there".

Hi, again, I forgot to mention that when I spoke with the gentleman from the Office of Enrollment Services, he said that it would be very helpful to start reviewing my physiology text and, also, dosage and calculations. I've started with physiology already and I think that he gave some good advice, because we do tend to forget! Hope this is helpful to you. Just out of curiosity, when did you go on the waitlist? I went on in December 2006.

I didn't make it onto the waiting list-- I thought that after April of 2006 you didn't get onto the list?? I think the Merit-based App. is the only way I'll ever be accepted. (So let's hope this year is THE year.) Thanks for letting me know what Rob said about the Physiology and Dosage-- I did NOT like Physiology and had to take it twice...C then a B. I should've gotten an A the second time around!! Okay, I'm off to Microbiology. Have a good day everyone :nuke:

Welcome to Allnurses & the RI forum. I'm a grad of St. Joes

Hello! I'm also a CCRI student and I just got accepted for the day program starting in the Fall... I've been on the waiting list since July 2005!

I completely agree w/ you on the fact that they are extremely vague as to whether your in or not, before your "officially in" if that makes sense. Over my three year or so wait, I've gotten into a lot of arguments with administration there, mostly because of the fact that everyone seems to tell you a different story. It's been a frustrating 3 years, but I'm definitely ready and excited and nervous at the same time!

Are you going to orientation in May?

Hi Melodramah-- congrats on being accepted, after your long wait! I haven't been told anything about an orientation in May. Do you go to the Warwick Campus?

Hi Melodramah! That's awesome that you got accepted. Congratulations! I have not heard anything about an orientation in May. Maybe it's just for people who have been accepted and not the alternates. Do you go to the Warwick campus? I can't believe you've been on the list that long. My goodness, you must be so happy that you're FINALLY in!:wink2:
