Hi everyone... I go to CCRI

Published

I'm a student at CCRI in Rhode Island, I've finished all of my pre-req's.... and Micro... and everything else... and have been told I'm an "alternate for 2008." Just looking for anyone else that goes to CCRI or knows any more about the Merit Based Applications than I do!

Hi,

good luck I am just finishing NSG IV soon.

Hey hey.. thanks for the support......

I do not go to the Warwick Campus, I'll be going to the Flanagan campus. I am very excited, but I'm waiting until the orientation to actually believe it's real..lol. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. But I do think I'm more ready for nursing school now than I was 3 years ago. So I guess the waiting has been kind of bittersweet. I worked at a few different places where I learned a lot about healthcare as a whole as well as laws regarding healthcare. I worked for the medical board for about 6 months, which was absolutely great! I learned so much! Processing case summaries of doctors who are getting their licenses revoked or suspended, you quickly learn what NOT to do...that was definitely my best professional experience as of yet.

Anyone who is on the waiting list... I definitely reccomend working through a temp agency that recruits to hospitals. Just my little piece of advice. :yeah:

Good Luck Melodramah!!!!!

Brantaf dont you graduate this spring? How is the SNAP program working for you?

Hello again...

Well..good news is I got my OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE :yeah: just the other day. Apparantly though, the Flanagan day program is now at the Warwick campus..which isnt particularly my favorite campus.. but oh well... I'm IN! I can't wait for orientation this Thursday! I've already started getting my health records together and such. I also need to take a CPR class this summer!

I'm taking dosage calc online this summer session that just started.. just to review, but also recently found out that I have to buy a different book for the online course vs. the book I already have which kind of stinks..but oh well.

Anyways, congrats to all again! :yeah:

wow ! thats great melodramah!:roll I just finished the online dosage cal. class this spring, its was nice. I prefer the lincoln campus myself.... I still have 3 more classes to go.....

congrats!!!!!!

Congrats on being accepted. When I took dosage calcs it wasn't online but rather in the Warwick campus (not my favorite one either--preferred the Lincoln campus). Good luck to you all!

How was the class online?

Can I use the book I have (7th edition) and just purchase the access code from webct?

TinyTessa,

I just started NSG V today...finished in August. I am in Warwick also, not the greatest but you have to go where there is an opening... I agree Lincoln is nicer we did NSG I last may there. Melodramah get ready for a wild ride!!!

I am not sure what the difference is....... I know they say its alot of changes from the last edition....you can pm me if you like...

I just got an email that the classes for Nursing 1 are full for the fall at CCRI. I was an alternate on the waiting list and many of my friends have told me that you can get called as late as the beginning of the semester. Now that this letter has been sent out, I wonder if I should just give up hope and wait til next year, or should I hold onto some small shred? I've tried calling and emailing administration, but, well, any of you who have tried to deal with CCRI admin. knows what I'm up against...Did anyone else get a similar letter? I'd love to know what you might know. Thanks:confused:

GOT THAT SAME E-MAIL! (This one:

FALL 2008 Nursing Program Update

This is to inform you that the CCRI Nursing Department has reported that the fall 2008 Nursing Program is now full.

All 2008 Performance-Based Nursing Applicants who did not gain acceptance into the program for 2008, are now officially withdrawn.

We encourage you to submit a New Performance- Based Nursing Application in spring 2009.

Thank You.

CCRI Office of Enrollment Services)

And I'm hoping I'm still an alternate... I would assume so, but who knows! They can call me the day classes start, that'd be fine.. as long as they call....!! My twin sister starts at St. Joe's in September and I'm kicking myself for not applying, because I would've gotten in... my grades are better than hers.

Well, fingers crossed. Good Luck to everyone who is in the same boat.
