Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Do you have to submit all of the transcripts from every school you've attended or just one where you took all of your pre reqs at?

I've spent so much wasted money on making courses more "recent" to satisfy this program or that program, that I should have been working on a post masters by now. I don't think the draining of my resources for this elusive "education", is going to help the bottom line. The only satisfaction I will get, perhaps, will be in completing what I set out to do. My story is a good lesson to all. If you are having life or school problems, get some kind of help and support at the time you need it. If you wait for the school of hard knocks to take care of things for you, you'll be waiting a long time.

So, the logical conclusion is that I could have left out transcipts from the school I attended in 2003 since all that particular college cared about was transcripts from the school I attended in 1970. See how absurd all this is?

yup, and sometimes a totally different/new venue.....

totally, even if the 1970 school was better quality, how much of it do you remember? totally nuts! but we are being too LOGICAL. lol

Apart, though, from everyone's individual bizarre experience with specific schools, the bottom line to me is that if the school tells you to submit transcripts from every school you've attended, and you don't, that's academic dishonesty. We are talking about pursuing admission into a profession in which people's lives depend on our personal integrity and honesty -- does one really want to embark on this journey with an act of dishonesty??

if i took a handful of lower level art classes.....in 1970, what does that have to do with getting a nursing degree....i would hazard a guess it has more to do with money, ie financial aid....than "academic honesty"

SO, in how many other areas of life are you willing to be dishonest if it will benefit you financially? If it will keep you out of trouble at work? If it will make your life easier? We'll just have to disagree on this ...

lololololololol.....you see, i dont see any dishonesty....those art courses HAVE NOTHING TO DO with nursing education.....why would they want to see them, why should i spend the money? and if i had taken bio. it would be too old and i would have to take it again anyway.....and i am so da*n honest, i have even pointed out the wrong, lower price, on things, so please dont even go there.....

I doubt that my experience with Excelsior College is bizarre. Since there is no written policy stating that older credits are acceptable and newer courses are not, and all transcripts must be submitted, I will hazard an educated guess that I am not the only student who has had their academic record treated in this manner. But if anyone wants to call it bizarre, then be my guest. I think I was able to read between the lines.

I've got to chime in here.

My situation has Nothing to do with fraud/dishonesty, whatever else you might want to label it.

I took classes thru an online university back in the '90s and now, come to find

out, 10+ years later, they were a FRAUD!!

They were a 'diploma mill' and there is No way I can get an 'official' transcript

because They went defunct obviously. So because I can't get the 'official' copy

I can't get into any program! Now, tell me what I did that was dishonest? Stupid? Yes, dishonest, no!!

i think this is a much different situation than the others discussed here. if you are unable to get a transcript then you are clearly not being dishonest. that is a separate situation from deliberately not submitting transcripts that you are capable of acquiring.

as for the op, i completely understand not wanting to get rejected due to a past problem. i was in the same situation coming back to school after 10 years. but do you really want to start on your journey, just to be expelled after spending time, energy and a hefty chunk of money on your dream? my guess is, if the school found out and let you go, getting into another program would be near impossible. it's of course your choice, but make sure you weigh all your options and think about all the consequences. good luck!

okay. i am not really sure. a few years ago, i didn't want to be a nurse and i wasn't sure what i wanted to do with my life and my grades reflected it. now i am doing much better. it just sucks that programs will eliminate me based on poor performance when i first started college if i am doing much better now

has anyone ever not submitted all their transcripts and didn't get caught?
