Transcripts

Do you have to submit all of the transcripts from every school you've attended or just one where you took all of your pre reqs at?

Most schools want transcripts from every school attended. At least that's how it is n my school

All schools attended. Have only encountered one school that indicates otherwise. There are people who have not provided all transcripts due to poor performance, however, in those cases they ran the risk of being found out.

Are they all using it? Some posters have said that they didn't submit all of their transcripts and didn't get caught.

If the school tells you to submit transcripts from all schools attended, and you don't, you'll be eliminated from consideration (or kicked out) if they find out. Do you really want to take that kind of gamble? What would be so awful about submitting all your transcripts?

Educators talk to each other. In one of my teaching positions, I caught a student cheating because she submitted (as her own) a paper written by a student at another school. She had no reason on earth to think that I would notice anything unusual about the paper. I won't bother going into all the details, but I was suspicious and checked with acquaintances of mine on the faculty of the nursing program at the other school -- someone there remembered the paper being turned in previously for an assignment by one of their students, and my student got kicked out of school (within a few weeks of graduating -- too bad, so sad).

Poor performance. I've been calling to nursing schools asking if they accept students who had to repeat a few courses, & they some said, "no". I am doing better now, but back then I wasn't. I don't want to be penalized for it. If I get kicked out, it's better than not ever being accepted.

this is a curiosity question, since i have transcipts that would date to 1970, would they really want that? though that course is rolled into an AD.....granted 21 years later, lol......but if it werent....what could they possibly want it for?

I don't know. I sent everything to Excelsior College and the person doing the evaluation took courses from the 70's while ignoring the recent courses. This certainly contradicts the "recency" requirement of science courses. So I don't buy off on that one. It doesn't make sense to me why any kind of class from 1970 is better than something from the 21st century. Unless the person doing the review thought that the C I got in 1970 looks better on my current transcript than the A from 2003. Looks that way to me.

oy!....first off, i took you for being a bit younger than i....not that it matters....and i would "go broke" i have taken courses at two CCs, two four year colleges and have a diploma in nursing (that school is closed)......

I've spent so much wasted money on making courses more "recent" to satisfy this program or that program, that I should have been working on a post masters by now. I don't think the draining of my resources for this elusive "education", is going to help the bottom line. The only satisfaction I will get, perhaps, will be in completing what I set out to do. My story is a good lesson to all. If you are having life or school problems, get some kind of help and support at the time you need it. If you wait for the school of hard knocks to take care of things for you, you'll be waiting a long time.
