Since I see the sticky already for A&P 1, why not start one for A&P II?
I'll be starting January 7th. :)

Hi everyone! I'm a little late but I'll still join if that's okay. I'm taking A&P 2. I started January 5th. I made a B (so close to an A!!!) in A&P 1 and at my school A&P 2 is considered to be easier than A&P 1 so hopefully I will make an A. I have the same teacher so... fingers crossed lol. I am also taking Micro, Psych, and Human Growth. Anyone else doing Micro at the same time???

Hey serendipity....same story here except for the last 2 sentences of your post! Taking A&P 2, started 1/5, A&P 2 easier than A&P 1, missed an A in 1 by 1 point. Same teacher this quarter. But taking Micro, Psych and Human Growth too? You're braver than I am!

Finished A&P II yesterday. In many ways even more fascinating than A&P I. Some advice....
Get the following stuff down before you start: acids/bases, ions, fluids/electrolytes homeostasis, and all the hormones. You'll need to understand these to make any sense out of the topics. I realized I was completely lost when we got to renal filtration. Did some research, it all clicked once I understood some basics. Here are my notes on acids/bases and fluids/electrolytes homeostatis. Hope they help. And don't get daunted! You can do it!!!

Anyone else taking II this semester? I am in the process of trying to rewrite notes to help myself study. I am looking at capillaries right now and in our outline it talks about how they are "leaky vessels". The only reason I can think of is that they allow exchange of waste and nutrients through diffusion. Is that the reasoning? Thanks for any help!

That, and that the pressure gradient at the front and back ends of capillaries forces fluids through the walls, IIRC. Wow, it's only been a couple of semesters and I had to think about that one a lot. Hope I'm right...

i start back on the 25th for A&PII - i am kind of excited but also kind of freaking out - last semester i did Micro and A&PI (and even with my past grad work in Micro) it wasa ton of work in addition to working 45-60 hours a week...lol i am looking forward to a "easier" semester

Anything helps when you are learning A&P.. and I found this crazy song that is so perfect for this class. Its weird but strangely accurate and catchy, lol. So anyway look up the song "Pancreas" by "Weird Al". Its a riot! :)

I've heard that A&P II is more physiology than A&P I
more like the same amount of anatomy and add in a ton of physio!
