  1. Hi Oklahoma, I'm in Houston, Texas and we have to pass the TEAS V first. Also, I need to take the ACT and several pre-reqs so I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I plan to take one class at a time to ensure I get awesome grades in all of them. I have taken A&P I(B), A&P II©, and Human Growth and Development(A) and need a few others to apply. I have a degree in business management and finished with a 3.27 GPA but I'm still nervous because I hear nursing school is a beast!!!
  2. Hello everyone!! I really needed to hear these stories!!! Nursing will be my second degree and I have been prolonging pre-reqs, TEAS V and anything to do with the nursing program for fear that I wouldn't do well or that my current grades suck!! I thought I surely wouldn't make it in due to grades etc. Thanks for giving me hope that it is possible to get in with a less than perfect GPA.
  3. A GED didn't stop my sister from becominga nurse!! Let that be the motivating factor for you!!
  4. WOW!! 24!?!?! that's sooooo old......NOT I'm 33 and have recently told my husband I was going to nursing school!!! you have PLENTY of time to complete nursing school. I know a someone that started pre-reqs for nursing at 52. Don't get discouraged. The plan for your life isn't based on anyone else but YOU!!!
  5. Thanks World Class!!!
  6. Hello All, I'm in the process of completing my pre-req's and found out I have to retake biology!?!?! I have a degree in something non-healthcare related and didn't know if I took biology more than 5 years ago I would have to do it over again. Soooo, my question is what is the difference between general biology vs intro to biology? It's been so long ago I don't remember which one I took. Thanks for your help!!
  7. @mersonsgrace thanks for the response.
  8. Ok I have another question? I have a degree already but it's not nursing related. Do I still have to take the TEAS? What is that?
  9. Hello Everyone, I wanted to know has anyone applied or have any experience applying for the LVN or nursing programs at houston community college? I'm in the process of applying to a few programs and wanted to know if any had info on the school. Thanks in advance.
  10. Hello JsmnLyd84, If I were you I would apply for the program I really want to complete. I can understand if money is an issue and you are trying to complete the LVN program to offset the overall cost of your education. If money is not an issue, I would apply for the BSN program. In the mean time I would complete as many pre-reqs as possible. B/C nursing is so competitive reapplying would not be an option. Hope this helps.
  11. Hello all. I'm new to posting but have been searching for an answer or at a minimum some information for A&P II. I completed A&P I with a B :nuke: but now I'm trying to figure out what to expect for the second half. I want to get a head start on the readings but not sure where to start. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  12. i plan to start a&p ii in february 09 so this will assist me in getting a head start on the class. i'm hoping to make an a for the second part and received a b for a&p i. thanks and good luck to everyone. is anyone going to houston community college?
