How many of you have children or had children while you were pursuing your degree?

I have 6 children, all 8(in Nov) and younger. No multiples. My husband says he supports me in pursuing finishing my degree but is it even possible? I also have to work FT or at least 32hrs in order to support us. My wonderful husband works from home and cares for the children while I work. We also Homeschool. Just trying to find a school is becoming overwhelming as I have done all of my 94credits online.

Me! I have a toddler.

we have three:)

I have a 5 yr old and an 18 mo old. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but I worked more than full-time and went to school part-time (2 classes at a time) when I only had my older daughter. It's definitely not been easy, but I am now done with my prereqs and hoping for an acceptance letter next month to start clinicals in January.

I have just one. Having children does make things like returning to school more difficult, but it can be done. Best of Luck!

I have a 7 year old and a 5 year old....luckily we have an amazing support system. My husbands parents are always willing to help out with the kids while I go to school (heck my MIL is taking off from work early today to pick up my youngest from school and stay with my older who is home sick from school so I can still go to class this afternoon.) it's not easy....it sucks sometimes....but it's worth it. The way I see it if we sacrifice for the next few years our family will be in a better position financially and my husband will have more flexibility in his job. It does require a lot of sacrifice...I have missed ball games and school performances (I was going to school at night until my youngest started kindergarten this year). I am patiently (sorta) waiting for an acceptance letter for nursing school to start in January....I'm sure that will be a whole new ball game but I am SOOO ready

I have a 3.5 year old and a 9 month old. Going to school full time (17 credits) but half my classes are online. Organization is key!

I had 1, 4, and 9 year olds when I started nursing school, and we all survived!

It was chaotic at times and I missed so much when I was working FT and in the school - it was really and truly difficult.

But it's possible. Organization and time management will be your friends and your husband will be your saving grace, so communication is also important. I had a great support system, but it's hard to all be on the same page about what's going on when you have so many cooks in the kitchen.

I have a preschooler. It will be challenging working 36 hours a week with 6 children. That said if you have the support, then go for it. I am glad I made the decision to do it.

I have two children, but only had my daughter when I started school. I finished my last two semesters pregnant with my second child, was working full time and was in school full time at nights. It was extremely difficult but not impossible. I organized myself and sacrificed "free time" in order to study and do homework. Thankfully I also had great support from my family who helped me in anyway they could. Plan and organize yourself and don't be afraid to ask your closest loved ones for help. I'm sure they will more than glad to help!

I have a 1.5 yr old and I'll have a newborn come Halloween. It'll be hard, but definitely worth it!

I have 4 children ages 8, 6, 3, and 1. We also homeschool. So many people tell me I am crazy and it will be too much, but it only makes me more determined.
