help with anatomy

Hi everybody

PLEASE, i am really having hard time with anatomy. i study, i memorize but when it come to answering questions i do not know how to put the information together. can i purchase any book that have question answer? i think i may learn better this way. please any help :crying2:

I don't know of any books right off hand. Doesn't your text book have a study section at the end of each chapter or a CD with practice tests on it?

I would also explain your problem to your instructor and ask if they have some practice questions that you could use as a study guide.

Perhaps an anatomy coloring book would help--helps to reinforce structure, placement etc

The above is a good website ran by an ex A&P instructor. He has a program you can request, which is "Quizzer". I loved doing studying using the "Quizzer".

I agree, answer the questions at the end of the chapters, as well as use the CD. Utilize your school's tutoring service as much as you possibly can!!!!!

http://www.nursingjourney.com is my site, which has quizzes, but it is mostly anatomy, but cover a little physiology.

Search on google or yahoo for "anatomy & physiology" quizzes, "a&P quizzes", or any variation.

I don't know how many online quizzes I took.

I passed A&P 1 with 101%, not sure about A&P2, but I did make A's in both.

Study all the time, make CD-R's of your notes by recording them while reading outloud. (If you don't have a digital recorder). Listen to them over and over.

Write questions on one line of a paper, and write the answer on a corresponding number on the back, or on another sheet of paper. If you have to look up the answers, that is fine. Study from those, and eventually you won't have to look at the answer sheet at all, or not as much!

Which book are you using? Maybe someone here can help you if we knkow the title of your book. My textbook has a website available with Quizzes etc. Is it possible to purchase a study guide that accompanies your textbook?

Take good notes in your own words. Read through the text then study the questions at the end of the chapter review from your text.

Also, making your own flashcards and color-coded hightlited notes helps. In isn't easy but you will be fine. Good luck :)

Check this out, too.

As you study, use your kinesthetic input as well. Point to places on your own body, make labels and stick them to yourself or a friend, move the body part. Speaking of friends, a study buddy is a good idea. You can quiz each other.

Hang in there--you need to know this stuff, but have fun learning it, too!

Use the links that I provided. Print out the pictures in color. If possible, take out any labels on the pictures. Print yourself out several copies.

Look at the pictures, try to recognize the parts, and write down your own labels.

Also you can try drawing the parts yourself. That's actually what I did. I think I drew them pretty well.

Basically it comes down to the act of you writing. That is going to help you memorize the most. It's better than just looking at a picture or a model a simply trying to commit it to memory.
