Has anyone gotten into a program with a C in Chemistry?

So, I took my final last night, and also found out that I bombed my 4th exam...Thank God the Professor drops the lowest grade, however, I have 2 exams that were 70s and one exam that was a 58 (the whole classed failed that one) which brings my exam average to a 67. The exams are 25 %, the quizzes are 15 %, the lab is 30 % and the final is 25 %. I thought I had been doing ok since I had been getting As in all my quizzez and As in every single lab. However, I am worried that if I did not do great on the final that my grade will be a C. I worked really hard this semester, but Chemistry was just really difficult for me. Not to mention, more then half of the class withdrew and my professor has a really horrible accent and teaches the class by reading off of powerpoints. I did not withdraw because this class was a retake and I can only retake a class once, so I had no choice but to finish it out. I cannot say that he did not try to help us though..it was just really tough. The questions on the exams came out of nowhere. He says that he will give us a curve but now I am driving myself crazy waiting for the grades to post. I am almost sure that I got a C in the class and I wondering if anyone here has gotten into a nursing program with a C in Chemistry?? I hope to get an A in AP I which I am taking in the fall, and is considered heavily in the ranking process, but I am really worried about the C. HAVE YOU OR DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS GOTTEN A C IN CHEMISTRY AND STILL MADE IT INTO A NURSING PROGRAM???? PLEASE HELP! I am wondering if i should retake it and just pay for it.

My program was fairly competitive and I received a C in Chemistry II and still got in. There are many aspects to the application including an entrance letter and extracurricular activities. I think it does depend on the program as some are more focused on grades then others. I know other people who had similar GPA's as me who were wait listed, so I think that it depends on more than one aspect. You need to base your decision on what the entrance GPA is for your particular school and what their requirements are.

Yep, I just got into the ADN program starting this fall with a "C" in chemistry. What helped me were my higher grades in my A&P, Eng, Math, GPA, Teas score, etc. So, with all that being said, I wouldn't let that Chem score hinder you. :). GL.

I got a C in chemistry once upon a time. I got into a few nursing programs. As long as you show improvement and you do well in your core prerequisites, you will be okay.

I got a C in A&P I & bio. It is possible to get into a nursing school. I just got accepted & start June 4th!

Specializes in ICU.

I got a C in Inorganic Chem and still got into nursing school. My orientation is next week.

I never had to take Chem because I passed it in high school. I don't think a C is bad. Depends on how strict your nursing program is. I know people who gets C's in all their bios and still get in. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Ask your school advisor if you are concerned.
