Fall Classes 2013

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey just wondering what Fall classes everyone's signing up for this Fall. I'll be taking A&P 1 the first two months, A&P 2 the last two months of the semester, as well as Microbiology, and Philosophy(ethics) for the full semester. Please if you have any advice or comments of the difficulty level of the classes I'm taking, I'll appreciate your comments, thanks!!! *^_^*

Sounds like you'll have your hands full. I'll be in my last semester of prereqs!

I'm taking Statistics, Group Communication and Leadership (a fluffer humanities course), Writing for Professionals & Inorganic, Organic and Biochemistry.

I am registered for A&P 1 w/lab, Intro to Healthcare, Public Speaking, Humanities, and Sociology. I am not working this fall I just want to focus on these classes. I think that you would have a lot of studying in a short period of time.

I am taking Statistics, Nutrition and intercultural studies this coming fall. After that I have just 3 prereqs left!!

Anyway, A&P is very time consuming and can be difficult, Ethics is a lot of reading but other than that a pretty easy class. I haven't taken mico yet so I don't know about that.

Good luck with your schedule. I'm most worried about stats! I hope I can make it through with an A to keep my 4.0!!!

It's my first semester of school EVER so I am doing Biology, English, and Elementary Algebra (pre-req for College Algebra). 13 credits total so full time but the Alegbra and English classes are online.

Specializes in Hospice.

I took most of the above classes for pre reqs (starting the nursing program in August). A & P I was harder to me than A & P II. I took it in a condensed summer session. Humanities was difficult, mine was Western Civ. It was an online course and the instructor was basically hands off the entire time, it was alot of reading about Roman architecture. I couldn't do algebra online, I suck at math. I do much better in a class with math. Somehow I got an A in Math for Allied Health, still don't know how that happened. Nutrition I enjoyed, got an A in that, not a very hard class. Public Speaking was an easy, fun class, once you get over the nerves! Sociology was also interesting and not too hard. Best of luck to all of you, you'll do great!

Specializes in Maternal Child, Home Health, Med/Surg.

I'm taking AP 1 the first 8 weeks and AP 2 the last 8 weeks. Then medical terminology.

This will be my last semester of pre reqs! I'll be taking chemistry, statistics, A&P II, world music, & African American culture. (Both electives needed filled)

A&P 1 w/ Lab, Lifespan Development, Economics, World History .. Originally supposed to have World Lit II on the schedule but took it this summer instead so I'll have time to volunteer at the hospital during the fall.

Specializes in ICU.

I am only taking A&P I/w lab this fall. I am thinking of adding in a medical terminology class though. I think it may be of some help when I start nursing school.

Specializes in CVICU.

Physiology, speech, and philosophy (logic)

I will be taking Physiology, Micro and College Algebra. Anatomy was a lot of memorization from what I remember, but since it sounds like your A & P classes are combined I am not sure any of my advice on that would do any good. When I took ethics it was a lot of discussion groups, debates, and reading. I've heard that micro is similar to anatomy in that there is a lot of memorization involved. Good luck this fall!
