Anyone else as impatient as I?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Of course, the excitement of beginning anything can be enough to make you want it NOW, but is anyone else as impatient as I to get started with pre-reqs., clinicals, and ultimately being an RN?

This attitude has always helped me in the past with accomplishing what I set forth to do, but I don't know how it may affect my decision and plan in becoming an RN. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew, as they say, but I feel incredibly empowered to have finally arrived at a profession that I know I will be able to take pride in.

Oh well, just figured I'd sound off. Thanks for reading.

When th espring semseter started I couldnt wait until summer classes started!!! And now that I am in summer classes I cannot wait for ap and chem in the fall. Oyy I cannot believe it will still be a year before actual nursing classes :o

What is everyone's "support group" like?

I have my Aunt, who will help out with my kids, and my husband, who is very emotionally supportive. MY MIL can't seem to support me in anything I do (nothing is good enough...as it was for the rest of my family my entire life). I have my kiddos who will cheer me on even if they don't understand most of it!

Absolutely! I did some pre-req's three years ago and then stopped even though I was supposed to start the nursing program the next fall. (Had my baby girl) For those three years, I have always felt like something was missing and I knew that deep in my heart I really wanted to go back to school and get my ADN. Now I am and cannot wait!!! So much so that I registered for a summer class that I still don't know how I am going to pay for!

I'm impateint too. I origionally planned to take one pre-req at a time, but got gready and now I'm taking at least 2-3 class per term. Also, I wasn't going to try to get into the nursing program until 06', but now I'm pushing for 05'. I'm dying to start clinicals! :coollook:

I took 3 classes this term and I'm in final exam mode right now. My first semester at the University consists of 6 classes. No room for electives until 2nd year where i plan to take chemistry so I have the option to move to the medical school.

I'm seriously impatient. It's starting to kill me. I'm just finishing my pre-reqs this semester. Hopefully I'll start my nursing program this coming May 2006, but if not, then Fall 2006. What's making it worse is that I keep making decisions that are not completely informed. Because of this I missed out on my chance of being accepted to the program at Oakland University for May 2006. Now that's one less school I can apply to.

So yeah... I'm becoming very, very impatient.

wow, that is totally me. i have no patience to wait. i don't like to wait for others and/or others to wait for me. i have always been electric and fast too. (not sure if it a good thing though).

anyhow, i was impatient the first day i moved to this state and found out that there were long waiting lists etc. i searched endlessly and found a private school. yeah more money (3 times more) but the payoff. my peace of mind :D

now a couple of semesters later and working on my last one of pre-req's. i am anxiously waiting for the acceptance letter to arrive and to start my clinicals next semester. i can only imagine if i don't get in, but i refuse to even think of that. hey, there is a solution to everything except death. if push comes to shove i can count on myself to get moving and find a solution.

good luck to you.

i did the same thing. My first semester in College, i planned out the rest of my 2 years!!!! i thought i was crazy but it worked out pretty well for me because people that started at the same time as me or before are still doing pre-reqs while im starting Nursing School in January!!! :) Whatever you motivation is stick to it!!!!
