A & P 1 Spring 2010

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Who's with me? I just registered!!! Registration just opened up for the spring and 2 of the A & P 1 sections are already closed... the one I chose only had 5 seats left (4 now :yeah:) . I've been putting off taking this class for years now. I's so excited to be taking this step!!!! Think I'll do a little dance

I was going to take A&P1 last semester but put it off, I am now signed up and ready to go for this semester. I tell you though I was sweating bullets, I almost didn't get into it.

I'm with you! I am dreading it, lol, but have to get it over with. I am getting ready to order the Netter's Anatomy Flashcards. I actually am re-taking this class (withdrew last time due to some circumstances that came up...)

Specializes in ER.

ME! ME! ME! There were only a few seats left when I registered. I couldn't believe how quickly they got filled! WHEW !!! :yeah: I have lecture two days a week and lab one day (before class on one of the lecture days). I'm bummed about not getting any of the instructors I wanted. The instructor for my class hasn't been assigned yet, and I'm just hoping it's one of the ones I wanted!

Where are y'all getting your flash cards from? Is Amazon the best source?

Can't wait for A & P I to start! :yeah:

Yeah, I am going to get mine from Amazon. It says there is also an access provided for some online site that you can access all of the flashcards on if you don't have them with with you. Here is the link I went to: http://www.amazon.com/Netters-Anatomy-Flash-Cards-STUDENT/dp/1416039740

For future reference... Very early on, I would suggest calling up the department head (of whatever department your class is under) and inquiring about the instructor schedule. I know that at my school, the instructor names are often not posted until a week or two before class begins (even though the department head has the info...) It is just awful.

I have learned the hard way to NOT just randomly register and "hope" to get a good instructor. So, now I inquire, after getting recommendations from people who have gone before me, if a particular instructor that I am interested in will be teaching the class that I need. I firmly believe that having a great instructor, for a class that is challenging like A&P, can make all the difference.

Yay!!...i'm takin AP 1 in the spring too with pathophysiology...i get to register on the 7th of december though registration opens on the 30th of november....i am praying that it does not get filled up by then....what flashcards do you reccomend? i also downloaded some free lectures on itunes hoping to get some studying done over the xmas holiday....or maybe not....

I was shocked how close I came to not getting into my classes as well; I met quite a few people in line who were trying to get into the same class. My school only offered 4 A&P1 classes.

It's the same way around here, everything is closed/waitlisted.

I've read good reviews about the Netter's flash cards, but there are others out there. I think someone mentioned Barron's (http://www.amazon.com/Barrons-Anatomy-Flash-Cards-Albertine/dp/0764178326.)

I believe that as well, but unfortunately, it was either take a gamble or not register for the class at all.

I was fortunate enough to be on the list for day 2 of early registration so there were quite a few open AP options. I'm all set for next term! Yeah!

Now if the bookstore would just hurry up so I can buy the books. Every term I feel like getting my books is like Christmas morning. (Yes, I know, I'm weird.)

I'm super excited to get my AP book. LOL!!

I'm also geared up for A&P this spring. Although I have a bunch of credits from a few years ago, this will be my first official "pre-nursing" course. Exciting! I ordered my books from the Amazon marketplace as well as a few supplementals. Geez, that book is expensive! At least it will/should apply to A&P 2 as well.

Course pickings were slim for me too. I got the most difficult professor, according to ratemyprofessors.com.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

Sorry for the confusion here, but are you all taking the combo A&P class? I thought one had to take a complete anat plus lab then the physio plus lab separate. hmmm interesting. I wonder if it's where you're going that you can do that.
