Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:

Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?

Specializes in OB Nursing.

I appreciate it! reached out to them earlier this evening and just waiting on a response this week.

I was excited to find this program, I'm hoping I can manage a fair TEAS score and be a competitive applicant!

Howdy guys!!

Have you calculated your points on the excel sheet? Also do you know how many extra points you get for your bachelors degree? Try to calculate your points and try to aim for 54 or more!

I know is early but I just summited my Application for Spring 2019! (Houston Campus)

Nursing Core GPA:3.72

Prerequisite GPA: 3.41

Prior Bachelors's degree (BS in Health)

TEAS Score 92.0%

Reading: 91.5

Math: 100

Science: 87.2

English: 87.5

My Admission score is 59.13

Does anyone know how many spots are available for the Spring?

Hey everyone! I am currently looking into the TWU program and I have a question! Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many classes you can retake for a higher grade? I know at UTA you can only retake 4 pre-requisite classes. In order for me to be competitive, I would have to retake several classes that I did poorly in 5+ years ago. I will call An advisor soon, but I just thought I would ask here first.

Good luck to everyone applying!

What did you study fir the TEAS to make thise high scores?

I dont think it is a limit. But they look at the highest grade from tbe retake. Im retaking classes as well.

What did you study for the TEAS to make those high scores? And how long did you study?

I study everyday for 2 weeks and use the pocket prep App and the McGraw-Hill study guide.

Greetings, future nurses!

Just popping in with some information for the upcoming Spring 2019 application cycle.

We have been made aware of changes to the NursingCAS appliction that will impact how you apply this time around:

  • You must now submit official transcripts for each college and university you've attended to both NursingCAS AND TWU's Office of Admissions Processing. (If you are a current TWU student, you must request your TWU transcript to be sent to NursingCAS.)
  • When completing the NursingCAS application, you must do full transcript entry. For each college and university attended, you will enter all of the courses you've taken and the grades you earned for each class.

Please (please please please) plan ahead so you can complete and submit the application by the August 15, 2018 application deadline.

I am applying for the Houston program. I have a previous degree and my prerequisite GPA is 3.3 and my nursing core is 3.68. I took the TEAS last fall before taking my A&Ps so I only got an 80. My advisor said that my GPA fit within the range of students usually accepted (above 3.0 for prerequisite and 3.6+ for nursing core) and told me that I should shoot for at least an 87 on the TEAS when I retake them later this month.

Hi everyone,

I want to start off by wishing everyone applying for the Spring 2019 session GOOD LUCK!!! I will be applying for the Houston location. I am studying for the TEAS exam and I plan to take it within the next few weeks. If anyone has any tips I would GREATLY appreciate it!! I will gladly answer any questions as well.
