Hey everyone! I’m not sure if I have posted on this thread yet or not, but I am also applying for spring 2020. I submitted everything on the last day because I had to redo my MMR vaccinations. I got the very last one on 07/14 and submitted everything to Castle branch on 7/15. I also mailed in my application. The information packet says that as long as it is post marked by 07/15 that it is good. It still makes me nervous though!! I will probably call tomorrow to make sure that they received it! I have been trying for 2 previous cycles to apply but have gotten mixed up with the vaccines. I finally have everything that I need, and I am SO nervous that I may have submitted something wrong and won’t be able to correct it. I am applying with 35 points, so as long as everything checks out with Castle Branch I feel like I have a decent chance. *fingers crossed!* Good Luck to everyone!
I am considering this program also! There is a couple on YouTube who have made some videos about the program. It seems like it is a good and reliable program. I believe that is was designed for student who need to work and have more flexibility. From what I have researched I gathered that instead of having clinicals every week, you have 5 days during two weeks of clinical days. I think each term. So maybe that would work with vacation time? Idk! I will look up the name of the YouTube channel for you. They are located in the DFW, which is where I am as well. Hope this helps!
Hey everyone!! I talked to a current El Centro nursing student in my Microbiology class and was told that the probation should be lifted since the pass rate was about 80% last semester. I believe it was either 83% or 84%.
I am taking all of your advice and applying to more than one program for the fall. I will definitely be applying for Weatherford College and possibly McLennan Community College in Waco. Waco is about an hour and 20 min away from me, so I don't know if I want to drive that far. I am looking into the other DCCCD schools and I will probably go ahead and apply for El Centro since I will have 23 points before my Hesi, and If I am already taking my hesi for other programs, I might as well submit the app for El Centro.
I will be watching this thread to cheer y'all on as your acceptance letters roll through! GOOD LUCK!
I am applying for the Fall of 2019! I am currently taking Nutrition, Micro, Chemistry, and Psychology! (I really know how to pile it on haha) I have not taken the TEAS yet. I'm thinking about taking it early January, but I'm not sure yet!
Well, I'm not applying! Turns out that the guidelines set out by El Centro makes it to where Castlebranch will not accept my shot records from my high school. I went to get titers done and my MMR came back as not immune. (My doctor says that this is common???) I obviously don't have time to go get both doses of MMR, so I'm out. When I called and asked Becker if this would disqualify me all she said was "Yep. Sorry."
I am so beyond DONE with school. I can't imagine how many good student are being turned away because of the tedious and ridiculous set of requirements to get into this school. SO. DONE.
