Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:

Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?

I won't have gotten in with 83. I retook the teas out of fear of not getting in with 83. i got 86 the second time and i got in. With 83 i was below the lowest admitted in but with 86 it was good

Hey everyone I applied for the Fall 2018 program but if I do not get in I will be applying to the Spring 2019 program.

My overall TEAS score was an 89.3

My nursing GPA was a 3.72

My overall points on the excel sheet were 46.97 points.

So I am gonna give you guys a few tips that I wish I knew before I applied. Since I already went through the whole process of retaking classes, taking the TEAS, retaking the TEAS, and actually applying I think this would be very helpful to you guys.

I would recommend everyone to take the TEAS exam ahead of time just in case you need to retake it, like take it ASAP.

I used the Teas study guide which is very helpful, but I also used the Teas app that has practice questions, and I went much more in depth in the science portion than the book did.

I also went online and found a website that helps with the English section called niu.edu, just search for effective writing practices tutorial in their search bar.

And another website that helped with the reading section I searched in the google bar, Entryways into College Reading and Learning and there will be an option for a website called highered.mheducation. The practice questions there are good.

I also recommend to meet with a TWU NURSING advisor so they can calculate your points and tell you what you need to work on. DO this ahead of time because sometimes they get booked like a month in advance.

I also recommend you calculate your own points and just mess around with the excel sheet to see what you can retake or what you need to score on Teas to get a certain amount of points.

Hope this helps!

Hi what teas score did you end up getting second time around?

Yayyyy someone made a forum lol ! I will be applying to Spring 2019. I just ordered my Teas study manual. My GPA is kind of low (3.2) but I have a previous degree which gives me more points. Hopefully my Teas can help my application.

Hi what teas score did you get in with?

Thanks for sharing! I just scored an 88 but saw on a previous thread, fall 2018, I believe -average for dallas campus was 93%! Did you get into dallas or houston?

Hey everyone, I just took my TEAS6 exam yesterday and I got a score lower than I wanted (in order to be more competitive) but here's where I stand.

My nursing core GPA: 4.0

My prerequisites GPA: 3.885

My TEAS 6 score: 88.0%

Fingers crossed that I get into the Spring 2019 because they're my first choice. Good luck to every planning to apply!

Did you get in? I scored 88 too- was hoping for a 90

Hi everyone, I'm apply for the spring 2020 program. I was hoping some of you could leave comments on your scores and whether or not you were accepted. Trying to get an idea of where I stand and what is/is not good enough.

Hey everyone!!

I was enrolled in the NW 2019 program but decided not to pursue it. If anyone needs any uniforms or lab coats, please email me at [email protected]. The uniforms still have tags on them, AND as a bonus the patches are also already on them so no need to buy them separately. I didn't get a chance to wear them :) If you or anyone you know could use them, email me!

Thanks!

Saadia

Good luck everyone! I was accepted back in Spring 2018 and now on my last semester and getting ready to graduate this upcoming December! You guys will love it, just take advantage of all your opportunities and believe in yourself. If nursing is what you truly want to do, then don't stop until you get there, whether you get accepted or not! ☺️
