Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:
Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?
For the Spring semester its August 15th for the traditional program only and Fall semester its February 1st for the traditional and weekend/evening programs.
are you sure? i saw that the fall 2018 was feb 1st, which has already passed. and spring 2019 for traditional is aug 15th?
im doing traditional
I'm not sure if anyone would know, but I have taken Chemistry 1 & 2, along with Organic Chemistry 1. Do they take the better grade out of the three because on TWU's website it says that ANY will satisfy the chemistry requirement. Thank you!!!
Yes they do use the better of the 3. I took Gen Chem 1 and 2, Organic 1 and 2 and Bio Chem. Them Used my O chem 2 which I had an A in. I made it into the program for the Fall 2018 semester, If anyone has any question feel free to ask away.
Hey guys! I applied for the TWU Dallas program for Fall 2018, but sadly wasn't accepted, so I'm going to retake some classes and apply for the Spring 2019 semester! My stats right now are a 3.3 GPA, 84% overall for my TEAs, and my score was a 52, with the TWU preference. I'm hoping to retake two classes, Microbiology and A&P1, and get a better grade. If I do that, my nursing GPA will raise to a 3.88, and my overall score will raise to a 61.53, which will hopefully give me acceptance to Dallas! Good luck to everyone applying!
Hey everyone!
I applied to the Fall 2018 Dallas Traditional as well, but unfortunately did not get in, but I am planning on applying again for Spring 2019. I plan on retaking a nutrition and statistics course I took when I was an undergrad at UT-Austin and also retaking my TEAS to try to get a higher score.
These are my stats:
Nursing core GPA: 3.6
Pre-req GPA: 3.65
TEAS score: 86.7
And a previous bachelor's bump
Good luck to everyone applying! We can do this!
Also I was wondering if we had to let TWU general admissions know that we won't be attending for fall and will hopefully in the spring?

Hey everyone!!!!:) I HOPE to apply in Spring of 2019. So far I have 2 more courses to take in order to start the application process and 4 in all to complete before being accepted (Fingers crossed:bag:)
I have a 3.73 Nursing Pre-reqs
3.68 General Pre-reqs.
Courses I still need are AP2, Nutrition, and Gen Chem
I havent taken the TEAS exam yet.
Im only applying to the Houston Campus.
Best of Luck everyone.
I say if you can- why not apply to an ADN. God willing you get into the BSN program though. If not- at least, you can still attain a nursing degree and once you start working not only will you be gaining experience but you'll be able to easily pay out of pocket for your BSN and so on.
Good luck sunshine!
Hi! I accidently posted this in the fall 2018 forum before I realized there was this one but any who I was planning to apply for Spring 2019. I had two questions! Is anyone else not seeing the proper application on nursingcas. It's only showing the RN-BSN application. Also, I know we have to be accepted to the actual school and then apply through nursingcas for the nursing program. Is it true that we have to submit all transcripts for the school then all transcripts again to nursingcas for the program?

With a total of 887 applicants, the Fall 2018 application cycle has been one of the largest and most competitive applicant pools we've ever seen. Admission always comes down to the applicant pool, and we had many qualified applicants. Even we were surprised at how high the bar was set this time around.
Preliminary stats/averages for Fall 2018 are as follows:
Dallas Traditional
Lowest admitted score: 54.4
Avg. GPA: 3.78
Avg. TEAS: 93.4%
Houston Traditional
Lowest admitted score: 39.4
Avg. GPA: 3.64
Avg. TEAS: 85.6
Dallas Weekend/Evening
Lowest admitted score: 48.3
Avg. GPA: 3.77
Avg. TEAS: 87.6
