TWU Dallas BSN Spring 2015 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello TWU Dallas hopefuls! I did not see a board for the spring 2015 applicants, please let me know if there is one already. Deadline to apply for spring 2015 is September 1, 2014. If you are planning to apply to TWU Dallas, introduce yourself!

I will be finishing my prereqs for TWU at TCC and DCCC this summer. I am currently taking chemistry, lifespan growth and development, nutrition & federal government this semester. I'm taking Micro(summer 1) and retaking A&P 1(summer 2) for the summer. I have to retake A&P1 because it will be 6 years old when I apply(bummer).

This has been a long road for me; to actually be so close is exciting/nerve wrecking! I hope to find comfort in knowing others are going through it too. I was working as a registered medical assistant for an infertility clinic for 4 years and am now just a full-time student/mother/wife.

I'll be entering TWU as core complete from TCC, meaning I will not have to take the other math or woman's studies course.

I am taking patho this fall at the Denton campus. I am pretty disappointed I cannot take it online, online is reserved for RN's that are pursuing their BSN. But, I am happy they dropped the first attempt A preference! This does make GPA more competitive and the TEAS as well, but I think with this change, I will have a better chance! (Made a freaking 88 in statistics) I plan on taking the TEAS in July. This applicant pool has the option to take the TEAS more than once, which is nice if you are not happy with your score. Also, the score requirements have changed and you now have to make at least a 64 on all sections to be considered. We all now it has to be much higher to be competitive! (80+ is competitive from what I have gathered from other posts)

I will be applying with a 3.83 GPA if everything goes as planned.

I am considering TCU as well, but my first preference is TWU.:)

If you just got accepted to TWU Dallas, post your stats to ease those like me!

I look forward to meeting everyone! Introduce yourself and tell us how you are doing.

I was told the TWU Bump is no longer effective during the Spring 2015 admission process. So everyone has a fair chance of getting in whether you have a previous degree or have taken 32+ hours at TWU. I attended an information session at TWU Denton...has anyone heard differently?

Hi there! I believe the TWU bump is still in effect. The only thing changed was the first attempt rule as far as preferences. I could be wrong, but it states it's a preference on the TWU nursing website. One more month left guys!!

I'm retaking my TEAS this month. It's going to cut close to the deadline, but as long as I take it BEFORE the deadline I should be okay. Is anyone else on the same boat?!?!?!

Hello everyone! My name is Savannah andI am also applying for the Spring 2015 application period at the Dallas campus. Here is where I stand, as far as my stats. My GPA is a 3.96. The only class I am lacking is Humanities, which I am taking this fall. I took my TEAS this morning and got a cumulative score of 83.3. Reading: 90.5, Math: 96.7, Science: 66.7, and English & Language Usage: 90. The Science score is obviously much lower than I had hoped for, but since we only get two tries and the most recent attempt is the only one that they will look at, I am a little skeptical to take it again. Remember that you are only allowed to take it twice for this application period, must make a 64% or above on all four sections, and ONLY the MOST RECENT attempt will be looked at. I will be speaking with an advisor from Denton at the beginning of the week, to get a better idea of where she thinks I stand as far as competitiveness. I read some of your other posts and had some answers. (Some questions may have already been answered, but I might have missed it.) For those asking about applying to both the Dallas and Houston campus; they will only allow you to choose one campus for your application... Good luck to everyone! If any of you have taken the TEAS recently, please post your scores! I just want to get an idea of where everyone stands. My scores have me a little worried, being that the science portion was so low...

anyone is planning to take Patho at TWU, i have the text book and study guide 7th edit for sale, message me if interested

$95 for both, great condition

Email me at [email protected] if you're interested

It was unfair to students who took the class where the lab and lecture were combined. Some schools had the four hours as one grade, while at TWU the lab is separate. So if a student made an A' in lecture, but a B' in lab they did not receive the preference.

Hey guys!

I just had a meeting with a nursing advisor and just wanted to share what she told me....average GPA of accepted students: 3.84 and TEAS score:84%

hey Nikki4 when you say average gpa 3.84 so do you mean theres students who sit below and higher do you by any chance know the range of the lowest and highest gpa? My stats are 3.68 gpa and 85.6 teas not sure if that is good enough .Im kind of on the low end on the gpa spectrum

Out of curiosity and because I'm taking my 2nd attempt of the TEAS V tomorrow...how did you prepare for the reading section? My first time around the time got me and I ended up rushing at the end (with all the easy questions). Did you study something in particular and also what about the English section? THANKS!

@jenizv12 . Reading just use your time wisely if you are in doubt with certain questions by pass it and move on and get back to it. I find the data information part is very easy and get all of if done and then go back on the hard questions you had trouble with. As far as English just study spelling , subject-verb agreement, sentence structures, and word meaning. Good luck hope that helps
