TWU Dallas BSN Spring 2015 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello TWU Dallas hopefuls! I did not see a board for the spring 2015 applicants, please let me know if there is one already. Deadline to apply for spring 2015 is September 1, 2014. If you are planning to apply to TWU Dallas, introduce yourself!

I will be finishing my prereqs for TWU at TCC and DCCC this summer. I am currently taking chemistry, lifespan growth and development, nutrition & federal government this semester. I'm taking Micro(summer 1) and retaking A&P 1(summer 2) for the summer. I have to retake A&P1 because it will be 6 years old when I apply(bummer).

This has been a long road for me; to actually be so close is exciting/nerve wrecking! I hope to find comfort in knowing others are going through it too. I was working as a registered medical assistant for an infertility clinic for 4 years and am now just a full-time student/mother/wife.

I'll be entering TWU as core complete from TCC, meaning I will not have to take the other math or woman's studies course.

I am taking patho this fall at the Denton campus. I am pretty disappointed I cannot take it online, online is reserved for RN's that are pursuing their BSN. But, I am happy they dropped the first attempt A preference! This does make GPA more competitive and the TEAS as well, but I think with this change, I will have a better chance! (Made a freaking 88 in statistics) I plan on taking the TEAS in July. This applicant pool has the option to take the TEAS more than once, which is nice if you are not happy with your score. Also, the score requirements have changed and you now have to make at least a 64 on all sections to be considered. We all now it has to be much higher to be competitive! (80+ is competitive from what I have gathered from other posts)

I will be applying with a 3.83 GPA if everything goes as planned.

I am considering TCU as well, but my first preference is TWU.:)

If you just got accepted to TWU Dallas, post your stats to ease those like me!

I look forward to meeting everyone! Introduce yourself and tell us how you are doing.

Thanks tcl2014! Super excited to start and learn so much. I know it will be overwhelming at times, but it's what most of us have dreamed of for years. Hoping it goes by fast lol

What were your stats?

Hello-

Does anyone know how the TWU Bump and previous Bachelor's degree preference works? For instance, does it actually add points to your admissions GPA or just put you into a "preferred applicant" pile?

Thanks for your help!

Hi! I am not exactly sure, have you had a meeting with an advisor? They could clear it up for you! I believe that if you and someone else have the same stats then the person with the preference would get in before the person without the preference. However, like I said I am not 100% sure and that would be a good question to as an advisor!

I sent an email last week to set up an appointment with an advisor! I will post the answer once I have my meeting!

Hey yall. my name is Lily. This is my 2nd time trying. I have a 4.0 GPA but I got a 73 on my TEAS :( which is why I believe I didn't get in the first round. I didn't study at all for the TEAS because one of the nursing advisors at the denton campus told me it was easy and it was like the SATs and that I shouldn't worry about. I wish I didn't take his word for it lol. I have a hard time studying the book on my own so if anyone wants to study with me? I have the actual teas study guide and planning on purchasing the the practice tests. But if anyone of yall are like me and have trouble studying on your own, let me know because I need a study buddy as well. thanks!!

Did you have any bumps the first time you applied?
