Hello TWU Dallas hopefuls! I did not see a board for the spring 2015 applicants, please let me know if there is one already. Deadline to apply for spring 2015 is September 1, 2014. If you are planning to apply to TWU Dallas, introduce yourself!
I will be finishing my prereqs for TWU at TCC and DCCC this summer. I am currently taking chemistry, lifespan growth and development, nutrition & federal government this semester. I'm taking Micro(summer 1) and retaking A&P 1(summer 2) for the summer. I have to retake A&P1 because it will be 6 years old when I apply(bummer).
This has been a long road for me; to actually be so close is exciting/nerve wrecking! I hope to find comfort in knowing others are going through it too. I was working as a registered medical assistant for an infertility clinic for 4 years and am now just a full-time student/mother/wife.
I'll be entering TWU as core complete from TCC, meaning I will not have to take the other math or woman's studies course.
I am taking patho this fall at the Denton campus. I am pretty disappointed I cannot take it online, online is reserved for RN's that are pursuing their BSN. But, I am happy they dropped the first attempt A preference! This does make GPA more competitive and the TEAS as well, but I think with this change, I will have a better chance! (Made a freaking 88 in statistics) I plan on taking the TEAS in July. This applicant pool has the option to take the TEAS more than once, which is nice if you are not happy with your score. Also, the score requirements have changed and you now have to make at least a 64 on all sections to be considered. We all now it has to be much higher to be competitive! (80+ is competitive from what I have gathered from other posts)
I will be applying with a 3.83 GPA if everything goes as planned.
I am considering TCU as well, but my first preference is TWU.:)
If you just got accepted to TWU Dallas, post your stats to ease those like me!
I look forward to meeting everyone! Introduce yourself and tell us how you are doing.

Hello! This came up when I searched for TWU Dallas Fall 2014 so I went ahead and read it.
I was accepted to the TWU Dallas program to begin this Fall! I'm so excited and I really hope you get in! I was also a transfer but I transferred from NCTC.
I really just wanted to stop by and tell you that, even though they say the online version is reserved for RN-BSN students, they allow others in. I know there are a few students in the class that aren't even nursing majors and are just in it because they need an upper-level biology... I think there is even a kinesiology student in the class. Now, they will not let you in right away but if you give them time you can get in.
What you can do is sign up for the in person class (just in case you cannot eventually get in the online version, at least you will have a spot in this one), and then email the contact on the online course and tell her you are interested and would like to be enrolled. She will tell you that it is for RN-BSN students, but she will also tell you that you can get back to her when registration is almost over and she can put you in if it isn't full. I signed up for online patho the Wednesday before class started (they started on the next Monday). So if you are willing to be patient then you can get into it. Just keep in contact and make it known that you would like to enter. I'm currently in it but I wish I took the classroom version because then I could meet other nursing students that will be in my cohort.
Good luck with everything! This time is so stressful but exciting!
Wow, that's good to know! I will definitely follow through and see if I can enroll when the time nears. Thank you for your insight! Good luck to you in nursing school! Ugh I can't wait to start!:)

Hello All!
This will be my second time applying, the first time my stats were:
3.804 GPA (w/ bump)
80 TEAS
1/4 Preference
I'm looking at retaking some courses during the summer to raise my gpa as well as the pre req classes. Since they have removed the preferences, I don't really know how that will effect this application period. I'm thinking it should be good in that you can retake classes and they'd only look at the most recent grades. Let's try this again! lol
Your gpa was great! Wow the competition is fierce! I hope I get in the first try. Good luck to you this round!

Hello!!
I'm planning on applying to TWU Dallas for the Spring 2015 term. By the end of this Spring semester I will only need Chemistry which i will be taking in Maymester! My cumulative GPA is about a 3.8 and my prereq GPA is about a 3.96. I took the TEAS V Exam this past week and made a 77.3% not very happy about that. Thankfully the applicants for the Spring get a chance to take it twice!! So now I know exactly what I need to work on for the next time. A few things that tripped me up a bit on the exam was TIME MANAGEMENT and that we are not allowed to use a calculator on the math section (I didn't know this!). Other than that the exam is not impossible. The science section was wayy easier than I thought! Hopefully my second try is better. I'm aiming for a 90 or above %. I have about 3-4 months to study and I'm definitely going to put the work in!! Good luck to all of you!! So glad we have this thread for us to be able to communicate and support each other!!!

Hello all,
My name is Jennifer and I will be applying for the Spring 2015 term! I will be finishing up my pre reqs in the summer! All I need is chemistry, micriobio, and nutrition. I will be taking those at tcc. If everything goes as planned, my stats aould be having a GPA of 3.7-3.8 with a previous bachelor's (getting my bachelor's in psychology) this week). I originally wanted to pursue grad school but after careful consideration, I feel nursing is a good fit :). I haven't taken my TEAS V, but I'm planning on making above 85%. I will be taking it in the beginning of June. I will update you guys on my stats as the deadline approaches!
Hi Jenizv12, your GPA is great! A 77 isn't bad for your TEAS, though I am glad they are allowing us multiple tries. TWU only looks at the prereq GPA correct? The wording on the site is a little confusing, but I have found the GPA worksheet is very helpful! Good luck to you!
