TWU Dallas BSN Spring 2015 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello TWU Dallas hopefuls! I did not see a board for the spring 2015 applicants, please let me know if there is one already. Deadline to apply for spring 2015 is September 1, 2014. If you are planning to apply to TWU Dallas, introduce yourself!

I will be finishing my prereqs for TWU at TCC and DCCC this summer. I am currently taking chemistry, lifespan growth and development, nutrition & federal government this semester. I'm taking Micro(summer 1) and retaking A&P 1(summer 2) for the summer. I have to retake A&P1 because it will be 6 years old when I apply(bummer).

This has been a long road for me; to actually be so close is exciting/nerve wrecking! I hope to find comfort in knowing others are going through it too. I was working as a registered medical assistant for an infertility clinic for 4 years and am now just a full-time student/mother/wife.

I'll be entering TWU as core complete from TCC, meaning I will not have to take the other math or woman's studies course.

I am taking patho this fall at the Denton campus. I am pretty disappointed I cannot take it online, online is reserved for RN's that are pursuing their BSN. But, I am happy they dropped the first attempt A preference! This does make GPA more competitive and the TEAS as well, but I think with this change, I will have a better chance! (Made a freaking 88 in statistics) I plan on taking the TEAS in July. This applicant pool has the option to take the TEAS more than once, which is nice if you are not happy with your score. Also, the score requirements have changed and you now have to make at least a 64 on all sections to be considered. We all now it has to be much higher to be competitive! (80+ is competitive from what I have gathered from other posts)

I will be applying with a 3.83 GPA if everything goes as planned.

I am considering TCU as well, but my first preference is TWU.:)

If you just got accepted to TWU Dallas, post your stats to ease those like me!

I look forward to meeting everyone! Introduce yourself and tell us how you are doing.

ATI Testing Centers are able to submit the score to the university within 48 hours.

Although you can take the TEAS more than once, the score that they take will be the first attempted score during each application period. So for an example if you retook the exam during the same application period, only the first score will count, regardless of the second score.

Hi there! This is straight from the TWU nursing entrance exam webpage to clear any confusion:

"Since the TEAS V minimum score requirement has recently changed, for the Spring 2015 application period (September 1, 2014 deadline), ONLY we will allow students to take the exam more than once, and we will use the most recent attempt. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE SPRING 2015 ADMISSION CYCLE."

Seeing as though this is online, I'm beginning to think my advisor isn't really on top of things... Thanks! This is definitely great news!

Hello,

I will also be applying to TWU hoston for spring 2015, after reading some people's stat that applied, I feel like I needed someone to calm me down. my stat are Preq GPA = 3.4ish, teas overrall score of 78.4% ( break down is reading 64.3%, Math 90%, Scie 85.3%, English usuage and grammar 83%)

previous BSc. in Biology with Micro and stastic=As, A&P I and II = Bs.

What do you guys think about my stats ? I was also going to apply to Uof H victoria, but I can't because of the 64.3% in my reading on teas.

Also, how can I get an advisor to email or call at TWU pls anyone ? callied the school and they couldnt help me with my ques.

I also did not take the micro Lab while I was in college, will that affect their decision ?

I will welcome any advice

Thanks

Does anyone know where we can take the TEAS V in Denton or Dallas?

Hi! My name is Christie and I will be applying to TWU for the Spring 2015 semester. I am taking microbiology this summer and if I get an A I will have a 4.0 gpa. I take the Teas V test on June 21, so I don't know that score yet. I am registered to take pathophysiology at the Dallas campus this fall. After reading Amber's "This Nursing Journey" blog, I am very nervous about nursing school. I am used to getting A's, but it sounds like that won't be so easy in nursing school. I am 47 years old so my brain doesn't remember things as easily as it used to. I look forward to meeting all of you in January or in patho this fall.

Howdy! My name is Lauren Hampton and I applying for both Dallas and Houston Spring 2015. I was wondering if any of you knew how to apply to both campuses. I can't find anything on their website talking about it so I emailed and haven't heard anything back just yet.

Unfortunately you can only apply to one campus, not both.

Hmmm we had an advisor from the Houston school come and talk to one of my organizations a couple of semesters ago and she mentioned it, but maybe it has changed. I emailed today so hopefully I get conformation soon! Thank you for your help!

Howdy! I am a Texas A&M graduate hoping to get in for Spring '15.

My prerequisite gpa isn't great, 3.67.

But I did score a 92.7 on the TEAS and am hoping that it will provide me the necessary boost.

I just applied to the 1st part process of being admitted into TWU.

I am confused on some of the application... like the extracurricular activity/volunteering which seem to be based on high school experience. Did everyone put college experiences? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but I just wanted to make sure.

Rimmynim,

I graduated from high school in 1985, so I just left the activity/volunteering blank. I got accepted without this information. I hope we both get in to the nursing program for spring 2015. Good luck!

Christie
