GWU Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread about GW's application process for Fall 2018. The deadline is Oct. 15th and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a response. I unfortunately, haven't finished all my pre reqs but will have all of them done by the end of spring semester. I am currently taking micro and dev. psych. Taking stats in the spring. I'm just nervous about not having them all completed. I do have a 4.0 in the ones that are done. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hello!

Congrats to everyone accepted. I too was accepted but will be attending Hopkins (accepted) or Maryland (application awaiting review) instead. Both programs are a bit closer to home (I live in MD) and offer a MSN.

To karyo... if your application isn't complete yet then you'll likely be considered under the regular deadline which is in January, so you'll have more time to wait to hear of your acceptance and then more time after that to accept their offer of admission. So you should be fine...the January 15 deadline if accepting offer of admission were for those that applied by the priority deadline on October 15.

Has anyone been able to find the facebook group?

I have not! I submitted a request to join the GW Nursing BSN students but have not been approved by admin yet. Hopefully we will all be able to find ways to connect soon! Has anyone else put down their deposit?

Hi everyone, the name of the Facebook group is GWU ABSN Fall 2018. Let me know if you can't find it. I put my deposit down and am very excited. Looking forward to connecting with you all! A couple of us are natives to the Northern Virginia area so if you need advice or info just ask!

Just requested to join! (Merrill Durham)

I will be accepting my offer and paying the deposit this weekend. I visited the school the week before Christmas. All classes are held in one building which is very convenient. Parking for the buidling is free, a definite plus. One of the other schools that I applied to charged $700 per year to park at some lot on campus. I am not applying to the Washinton Squared program. Although it is a great incentive to have part of the tuition paid for, I prefer not to be tied to that area. I have gone to school in NC for the last 3.5 years and would like to look for a job soemwhere in the south after the ABSN program. I also looked at an apartment complex (Acadia by Cortland) that was a little less than a mile from the campus. It was very nice, and CLEAN! I have been also searching on Zillow for rentals in the area and there are some very nice townhouses 2-3 miles away that have 3-4 bedrooms. I will definitely be looking for roommates for costs/expense reasons and I prefer not to live by myself. Hopefully , we can all connect on FB to coordinate housing arrangements. I also checked out One Loudon plaza/center. It has quite a few restaurants and a cinema/drafthouse. There are also a few other very nice shopping plazas a few miles away. I live in PA and am on winter break until the end of Jan so I may make another visit to check out more of the area before I go back to school. Will be joining the FB group soon. Can't wait to meet all of you!

Hi everyone! I am hoping to pay my deposit down in the next week and I am very excited to be attending GWU in the fall! I have been having trouble finding the facebook group so if somebody could add me that would be great. I will be moving from New York and I am hoping to find apartmentmates! I have been looking around online and I found some apartments that look nice that are close to campus. I am hoping I can connect with some other students who will be attending the program in the fall!

does anyone know how we pay the deposit? I accepted the offer but haven't been able to find where I pay

Did you receive the email with the subject "Enrollment Deposit Instructions"? In that email there are steps to follow this link: Paying your admission deposit online | Graduate Admissions | The George Washington University

Hello! Congrats on getting in to those who applied! I will be applying for a future cohort date and had a few questions. Do the references have to be from one professional and one academic source? Or can they be from two employers (and no academic professors)? What address did you use to send your official transcripts to?

I haven't heard back from GW yet, so it looks like they will be waiting to evaluate my application after the deadline (tomorrow)!

I'm kind of glad because I still haven't decided which school is my top choice. This way I'll probably hear back from both schools around the same time.
