  1. I started a group! The name is "MUSC ABSN Fall 2019" and the link is: Log into Facebook | Facebook (I looked at the other MUSC ABSN groups and they're all named based on the graduation date.)
  2. If I start a Facebook group, would ya'll join? :)
  3. Has anyone started a Facebook group for this cohort? I just visited MUSC yesterday (for the first time after my acceptance) and loved it!
  4. I just now checked my email and wanted to update ya'll. I received an email from MUSC that I was admitted!! The email says I should expect to receive an admissions package in the mail soon and must respond by April 13th. It seems like this might just be the preliminary round, so don't despair if you don't hear from them today too! At least this means they've finally made some decisions!
  5. A couple more weeks?? Are they joking? Wow.
  6. Thanks for calling and keeping us updated!
  7. Wow, they are taking their time. I heard back from the other school I applied to a week and a half after the application due date.
  8. Good luck! I had a 3.5 overall and 4.0 prereq GPA. In addition to that I had more than 200 volunteer hours and almost 30 hours of clinical observation (shadowing). I think that helped, because otherwise, I don't have almost any experience working in health care. Most of my work experience has been in customer service and sales, although I also work as a peer tutor in Anatomy and Chemistry at my school.
  9. The GW website just says 3.0 is the "preferred" GPA. Looks like they might consider applicants with a lower GPA. It probably depends on the strength of the rest of your application. You can always try applying and see what happens!
  10. The deadline was extended, but I've gotten emails from other programs that have extended their deadlines as well. Some semesters schools just don't get as many applicants. I think they extend their deadlines in order to try to find more highly qualified students.
  11. It would be me and my husband. Since the programs are accelerated, I don't think there will be time to work! I'm working 2 jobs this semester while taking 3 classes and volunteering at 2 places, and that is stressful enough...!
  12. Me too!! At least I know I got into the only other school I applied to. But I need to plan a visit to whichever schools I'm admitted to so I can figure out where I want to go. And I can't start planning these visits till I know where I'm accepted! I live all the way out in California and it's going to be a big move either way.
  13. I just woke up and sleepily checked my email and saw an email from GW Nursing. I was accepted!!! I turned my application in at the 1/15 deadline, so I didn't think I'd get a reply so soon! When I called a couple months ago, they told me it would take about 4-6 weeks for decisions to be released. It looks like either way, you'll get an email titled, "Your Decision Is Ready to View" once they have made any decision regarding acceptance. Good luck to everyone else!!!
  14. When I called for information a couple months ago, they said decisions would be made within 8 weeks of the deadline. I'm also out-of-state, but I don't know the stats on acceptance numbers.
