GWU Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread about GW's application process for Fall 2018. The deadline is Oct. 15th and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a response. I unfortunately, haven't finished all my pre reqs but will have all of them done by the end of spring semester. I am currently taking micro and dev. psych. Taking stats in the spring. I'm just nervous about not having them all completed. I do have a 4.0 in the ones that are done. Anyone else in the same boat?

Specializes in Oncology.

Hello Aspiring33, at the info session they said they prefer to see one academic and one professional reference; however, they also said if you've been out of school for a while they understand if it's two professional references. Best wishes!!!

Had to reject my spot because I was accepted at a different program so one more spot has opened up! Good luck to everyone!

Anyone sign up for one of the admitted students days? I signed up for the one on June 1. Hoping to meet some of you! I am now on the Facebook group so we can connect there too. I also decided to apply to the W2 program and have signed up for the April 21 interview date. Not sure about it as I am not definite about staying in the area for 3 years after the program but I thought I would check it out. 50% of tuition is very enticing but I know the cost of living in that area is very high and commuting is a nightmare. Will see what all is involved. I am also going to be researching apartments and townhome rentals soon. Will need roommates and looking for something very close to the school. Please reach out to me if you will be looking also!

I just woke up and sleepily checked my email and saw an email from GW Nursing.

I was accepted!!!

I turned my application in at the 1/15 deadline, so I didn't think I'd get a reply so soon! When I called a couple months ago, they told me it would take about 4-6 weeks for decisions to be released.

It looks like either way, you'll get an email titled, "Your Decision Is Ready to View" once they have made any decision regarding acceptance.

Good luck to everyone else!!!

Congratulations!! What a quick turn around!

I also was accepted yesterday!

I also was accepted yesterday!

Congratulations!!

I heard GWU doesn't have enough people applying to their accelerated BSN. Does anyone know if they accept below a 3.0? I have a 2.9.

That's interesting. I wonder why? Where did you hear that?

I'm at Trinity Washington University right now for their nursing program and that's what some of them said (who have just been admitted to GWU's fall accelerated program).

I'm attending but I question why the applications have been low. Makes me concerned about the program now. Not happy that no aid or scholarships are offered except for Washington Squared. Not applying for that as I do not want to commute into DC from Ashburn and I don't want to be tied to the area after the program. I hope I have not made a mistake in accepting the offer as I had other offers. ?????
