GWU Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread about GW's application process for Fall 2018. The deadline is Oct. 15th and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a response. I unfortunately, haven't finished all my pre reqs but will have all of them done by the end of spring semester. I am currently taking micro and dev. psych. Taking stats in the spring. I'm just nervous about not having them all completed. I do have a 4.0 in the ones that are done. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi there!

I was confused about that as well and found out that the information for both OSHA quiz and HIPAA will be provided to us once we are signed up for blackboard (there will be links included). In order to get access to BB, you have to give them (GW team) your netID. Let me know if there are any other questions.

Thank you!! That's super helpful.

Hi All! I was just wondering if anyone had interviewed for the Washington Squared Program? Also, if you did how did it go? Is it worth it? Thanks!

Has anyone gone for their W2 interview yet? If so, how was it?

To anyone looking into GWU's ABSN, DO NOT APPLY! The program is wildly overpriced and incorporates a lot of extra credits into an already jam packed program. The only semester out of all 4 that is organized is the first one. The rest were an absolute disaster for me -- during first semester, I had to miss one week of class for a serious illness and instead of supporting me, my advisor told me to JUST DROP THE PROGRAM. During second semester, my professors SWITCHED half-way through the semester with no warning and no real reason, other than one "got a better job." Third semester, there was an online class with so much discrepancy in the syllabus versus what was due it was nearly impossible to keep up. ALSO, don't even think about trying to work part time. NO ONE WILL SUPPORT YOU! They will change due dates, extend class times or add assignments on a minutes notice and do not care if you have to work, so don't even mention it if you do have a job. By the fourth semester, my "preceptorship" that they hype up so much almost fell through because the same advisor who told me to drop, never emailed me to let me know I got the spot. In addition, there was a total lack of communication between all of the professors during this semester as well. My final semester was in the summer and half of my instrutors decided it was a great time for them to "take vacations" and just leave us with no guidance right before our graduation. With 25 days left in the program, I still had not managed to meet my required hours for community-- at no fault of my own, was still required to pay over $500 for NCLEX registration fees and was told I was not allowed to miss class to attend an interview. Be sure to look into other programs because I would thoroughly say this is not worth it for the cost

Hi! For the people who ended up attending, do you have any tips for next steps after admission and for during the program? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi everyone! I am hoping to pay my deposit down in the next week and I am very excited to be attending GWU in the fall! I have been having trouble finding the facebook group so if somebody could add me that would be great. I will be moving from New York and I am hoping to find apartmentmates! I have been looking around online and I found some apartments that look nice that are close to campus. I am hoping I can connect with some other students who will be attending the program in the fall!

Hey I just got accepted and will be moving from nyc as well. Would you please tell me more about the quality of education before I make a decision. Thanks !
