GWU Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread about GW's application process for Fall 2018. The deadline is Oct. 15th and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a response. I unfortunately, haven't finished all my pre reqs but will have all of them done by the end of spring semester. I am currently taking micro and dev. psych. Taking stats in the spring. I'm just nervous about not having them all completed. I do have a 4.0 in the ones that are done. Anyone else in the same boat?

So can one visit before accepting the offer or have you already accepted the offer and committed to attending?

Did not accept my offer yet. Waiting to tour the campus and area. I have heard it is a very nice area. I absolutely love DC which is quite close too. Unfortunately, I'm trying to get to the end of a tough Fall semester (over in 2 weeks) so I can't give much attention to this right now. Looking forward to finshing presentations, papers and finals, then maybe I can celebrate and enjoy this!!!

I've also been accepted! Did anyone mark on their application that they'd like to be considered for Washington Squared? Or does anyone know much about it? Seems like it definitely has it's pros and cons. What does everyone think?

I have also been accepted by God's grace.

I checked the Washington Squared box on the application. From the info on the website, I believe you do all your clinicals at the Washington Med Star Medical Center locations. You must give them 3 years of employment after graduation and there is a significant tuition reimbursement amount. I figured it couldn't hurt to mark the box and try for any and all financial help. The website also states that a separate application must be completed to apply for the program. I sent an e-mail to the admissions office today to get more info on how to apply for the program. I'll post any info that I get from them about it.

i received my acceptance letter yesterday. next step is to make a trip to the east coast and visit the campus. Does anyone know the cost of the program or start day?

Specializes in Oncology.

Congrats! I believe it's about $65 to $70k not including living expenses. According to gw academic calendar the first day is August 27.

Yes, lets!! My name is Emily Young. I can start one if you'd like.

Hey, all! I started a fb page for us all! Look up GW ABSN Fall 2018 and add yourselves! Here we can support each other and provide one another with info and answers for anything from the process of finalizing our enrollment to nursing school topics! Congrats again to all!!!!

I tried searching for the fb page but was not able to find it!

If we apply before the regular deadline, does anyone know if we'd have to wait until after January to hear back from GW?

I am not sure if that is true because I applied in November and I was accepted on December 4th. Thus, I do not believe they always follow their guidelines. Sometimes they send out decisions earlier.
