Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she... Read More

We were talking about strange baby names at work last night, and someone mentioned a baby named Marijuana Pepsi. I wondered if the poor thing had a brother named Steroid Cheetos.

Most recently....Iceeona. Icee for short. I stopped at a 7/11 as soon as my shift was over and bought an Icee because I'd been thinking about it the whole time.

so i went back and checked out one of the local hospital nursery websites, just because it's been a while and i needed some laughs. i noticed what looks to me to be a "new low" in choosing your child's name: copy (with only slight variation) the name that was given to the last baby that your ob/cnm delivered earlier that day!

congratulations amanda and michael, baby boy brayden michael has arrived!

at first, i thought this next pairing might have been twins (less than an hour apart, same midwife), until i clicked through and saw that they had different parents! (the first page just lists the baby name and the time, you have to click the link to see the parents' names):

congratulations jessica and erik, baby girl khloe izabella has arrived!

I also found these names from our local hospital's nursery... they may not have copy-catted the family that delivered just before them, but they sure didn't pick winners -- I feel SO SORRY for these little babies, being saddled with these names!

Congratulations Cashmere, baby girl Teliah Unique has arrived! <<<<< EVERY baby is unique, you DO NOT have the name them that!!!

Congratulations Shasta and Chad, baby girl Kaysen Michael has arrived! <<<<< did they miss the fact that they had a baby GIRL? Did they really want a son that badly???

Congratulations Lashawn and Darion, baby girl Za'nia Damonya Marie has arrived! <<<<< what a mouthful!!

Congratulations Lovita and Gregory, baby boy Major Lewis has arrived! <<<<< do you have to salute him when you change his diaper?

Congratulations Nichole and Tim, baby boy Leviticus Filow has arrived! <<<<< UGH!

Congratulations Rokiya and Phleece, baby boy Phleece Parion has arrived!<<<<< You have a name like "Phleece" and you pass it along to your offspring? Why not name him "Microfiber" and get it over with?

Congratulations Ashley and Robert, baby girl Zakaydrianna has arrived! <<<<< her poor kindergarten teacher is going to spend the entire school year just teaching the poor girl how to write her own name!

Congratulations Teneasha and Stonia, baby boy Cormarion Aaron has arrived! <<<<< if you liked the name Aaron so much, why didn't you just make it his first name, instead of making up a way to insert it into a made-up first name and then follow up with it in the middle name as well?

Oh well, at least the kid won't spend all of kindergarten learning how to spell it.

My hubby does social security disability and he SWEARS that he PERSONALLY has seen people named Lemonjello and Orangejello (pronounced le-mohngello and or-ahngello). I don't know.
My wife swears this is true, she says she went to high school in OP with them. I have never seen them in any yearbooks, though.

I once met a man named Stephan who saw to it that his three children were named Stephan, Steven, and Stephanie. Guess he wanted them ALL named after HIM. At least that's somewhat better than the famous Michael who named his two sons Prince Michael 1 and Prince Michael 2 (and then nicknamed the latter...of all things...Blanket...no wonder that poor kid is reportedly harrassed mercilessly by an older male cousin he's now living with...)
