What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

Specializes in none as of yet, hoping for ped oncology!.

My sister named her baby Baiyleigh (pronounced like Bay-lee) Rae (ray). I had a child in my toddler class whose name was Preciosa, and I went to school with a girl named Tequila.

My daughter's name is Hannah, and when we picked it out I wanted something that would be cute for a 2 year old but still appropriate for a 40 year old to put on a job application.

as we pass through the nursing process has been rather short, we have not heard of patients to call their babies rare form, except that place names of animals, pig, chicken, bird :coollook: and other

OK, have a new one for you guys!! and I can absolutely swear it is true. I only make fun of it because the dad was such an arrogant jerk, it took every ounce of will power not to crack up!

Boy and Girl twins, named baby girl "America", told me that dad came up with both names and named her that since the baby boy was ALSO named after a country----baby boy "LUNDYN"

HAHAHAHA, laughed my butt off on the way home. it's bad enough he thinks london is a country, and then that spelling?? We so need to come up with some mandatory parenting and basic education classes for some parents that start as early in these pregnancies as possible...even 9 months! I have also taken care of an ABCDE (prononunced AB-SID-DEE) and thought my 15 year old patients baby "Abstidee" (never saw her spell it), she explained she named the baby after the word abstinence...to remind her friends!!! She actually walked the halls laboring in a shirt that said "true love waits" on the back, We cracked up when one of the nurses said "of course she's here, only the girls walking behind her got the message! LMAO, funny but in a so sad its true way!

...i'm thinking maybe english is a second language to this poster and the idea was...why do people give people names to animals and strange names to people?

A coworker named her daughter Crymson Tyde, the other 2 children have similar names, but at the moment, I can't think of them.

Have a relative with the last name White. Huge Bama fans. Named their daughter Crimson Ann (White)

I just recently heard a pt name her daughter Charisma. She told me her son's name is Justice. Thats a little weird for tastes.

Lemonjello, Orangejello, and Nosmoking (pronounced Nozmo-king) have been making the rounds for years at Parkland in Dallas. It seems like every resident "swears" they personally heard a mom name her baby those names. I think it is an urban myth.

I went to school with a girl named Lemyn Candi. LEMON CANDY! I have no idea what her middle name is, I was always too horrified to ask.

When I was working in daycare, I personally knew a crew of siblings named, Faith, Prophyt, Patience, Saint, and Sinner. Yep.
