california nurse?!

i was wondering if anyone has come across an article regarding the california nurse who received some thing like 37k after being fired for refusing to go an abortion pill? i was channel surfing and saw it scroll across the bottom of the screen. it grabbed my attention and then they left me hanging! thanks in advance for any replies!

This is probably the case you were asking about, I am not sure what I would have done had I been on the jury. If she was in fact fired for subverting the mission of the clinic then she should have not received a dime..IMO.

ShannonRN, I think it is ridiculous that she got even a dime! I am all for freedom of speech and religion, but you have to be a blooming idiot to go work in a place that does procedures that are against your personal beliefs. If she doesn't believe in "family planning" she has no business working in a "family planning" clinic. It is like people I work with who complain about paying Union dues. HELLO, there are only something like 10 other hospitals within a 25 mile radius which aren't unionized!!!!

That is such bull shyte! I am sure she knew that working in a clinic that provides birth control, family planning was against her so called beliefs why on earth are you working there? All it takes is one. Jeez!

Around here if you are opposed to family planning or abortions you go to work in one of the many Catholic hospitals, you DO NOT take a job at the Planned Parenthood in town!
