NMC Processing

World Registration

Published

I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.

But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.

I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.

The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.

I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.

Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?

Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?

Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?

I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.

Whoah! I need to be in UK for the 2nd part? Only for that exam then if i passed or vice versa I need to go back to PH and wait till i complete the NMC? Perhaps i need atlst a million for this application.hehe!

If you read the link I posted it tells you there that the 2nd part must be done in the UK

Thanks alot silverdragon:)

In order to apply, you must meet our minimum requirements which include an IELTS score of at least seven in all areas, 12 months post-registration practise as a nurse/midwife and completion of a three-year training programme.

Hi everyone! I got the quoted statement above from the NMC website in the FAQ section. I just want to know what does the "completion of a three-year training programme" means? I understand that the 12 months post-registration practise is like you should have a work experience of at least 1 year. What about the "three-year training programme"? Is it like a paid training right after graduating and becoming a registered nurse here in PH?

They mean your nurse training course must be 3 years long. This is similar to UK training which is just over 3 years long

Ah you mean like the undergraduate BSN course? So that makes me eligible since I took mine for 4 years...

Hi!

I am a Registered nurse from the Philippines and I am currently under the old scheme of the NMC. I have questions regarding the 2nd pack.

1) I had a relevant experience for the position nurse trainee and I was wondering if I should include this as an Employment experience since as a trainee we are not under the human resource but the nursing service office/training division or should I put it in the "gaps in employment" category.

2) Does the NMC require evidences of the gaps in employment?

3) I am not sure how strict the NMC is but is it okay to use different pens in filling up the form as long as it is still black? I had started filling the application pack but I decided halfway to use an erasable pen instead so that there will be no errors.

Responses are highly appreciated. Thank you

Hi! im a newbie here. i just want to ask if nmc accepts cumulative experience. In my case 1.8 years of experience on 3 different hospitals. ive read that one reference must come from someone who has supervised you for a continuous period of 12 months. So does that imply that 1 year of solid experience is required? hope someone could answer me!:) thanks

Hi RicMartin. I'm in the same situation. Will you give me a headsup once you get the answer? Thank you!

Wow! Very quick. Lucky you. I don't know what the current wait time is for the dl at the moment, but if you give the nmc a call they can tell you.

Thanks for the reply, Happy New Year!!!
