NMC Processing
Yeah, I was just starting to process my Pack 2 when I left the country. I had just completed all the required documents this week and it'll take about 1-3 months for the decision letter to be issued. Currently, we are classified as Band 3, but our roles are more like of a student nurse - that is, our responsibilities are limited and we work under direct supervision of a qualified UK nurse. I guess it will continue to be so during our ONPs. We will then proceed to Band 5 nurses roles as soon as we get our NMC PINs. Anyway, have you read the new policy of NMC? regarding the qualifying exam replacing the whole ONP thing?

NMC Processing
Hi Krisangel, I just got my Pack 2 on the third week of May 2014 - that's roughly a week before my flight for London. I've had my hospital work experience outside the Philippines, the reason why I had so much delays / why NMC required me to submit some additional documents. If you only had your work experience in our country, those additional papers shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, my hospital employer here sponsored my working visa (along with the other 29 fellow nurses) even though most of us are still waiting our Pack 2/Decision Letter. So yes, it is possible to go to UK even though you haven't got your decision letter yet. If you have questions regarding your NMC application, I suggest that you call NMC directly since it usually take at least 2 weeks for them to answer an email.

NMC Processing
I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful. But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs. I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013. The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2. I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies. Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter? Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter? Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter? I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.

Aged Care Certificate, anyone knows this?
Thanks for the info. Anyway, I've been discussing with an agency lately. And I'm having difficulty in deciding which program to pursue, since they are offering assistance for aged care/disability certificate course and bridging program(Brisbane). I'm scared to go for the BP because I'm afraid that after the 3-month program, I'd be sent back to my country. I'm a Filipino nurse with 2 years experience in acute setting in the Philippines and 3 years ICU working experience abroad. I really have no idea how competitive is the employment situation there in Aus. What are my chances? As for the aged care/disability course, they said this program will take about a year and I can have a part-time job during that period. Suppose I chose the latter, will it be easy to find a part time work there considering my case? Do you know what are the usual part time jobs of those IENs taking this course? Is it true that taking this course won't allow me to apply for PR after?

Aged Care Certificate, anyone knows this?
Hi ceridwyn... I just want to ask...supposed I take a bridging program in Aus, what are the chances of me getting a job there after? Are there cases wherein internationally educated nurses who finished the BP were sent back to their countries?

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
Aww ok, thanks!...last question...i've really been searching of schools in ACT that offers bridging program, but i can't seem to find any...perhaps you know or could suggest any schools there? My relatives lives in ACT, plus my aunt works as a nurse in Canberra too. I figured, it would be cheaper, and easier if I could just live with them during the course. New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
Really? On what criteria do they base in giving these scholarships?...because BPs are just so expensive...it would really help if the tuition's at least cut by half... Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com

Applying for AUS
Hi everyone!* I just wanna ask about how to work as a nurse in australia. I am a Filipino nurse who has worked in the Philippines for one year and seven months in a clinic setting and currently, I'm working as a staff nurse in Tripoli Medical Center in Libya. My two-year contract here will end by August next year, and by then i plan to take IELTS as soon as I can. I have an aunt who works in The Canberra Hospital and is already an immigrant there. She's willing to *sponsor me, but I don't really know where to start my application, or how. I wanna ask you guys what is the best and quickest way to apply in Australia? I don't quite have a deeper knowledge on whether i would apply there as an enrolled nurse, take a bridging program, use a student visa, apply as a skilled worker or what. Anyone? Please help...
