NMC Processing

World Registration

Published

I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.

But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.

I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.

The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.

I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.

Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?

Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?

Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?

I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.

its quicker now to get decision - about 30 days.

Hi, I just want to share my timeline when I applied for NMC Registration:

July 2014 - passed IELTS

Sep 5 2014 - Applied for my first pack

Sep 22 2014 - Received my first pack and paid for my registration fee

Sep 26 2014 - Sent my first pack

Nov 21 2014 - Received my Pack 2

Dec 23, 2014 - Sent my Pack 2 thru my agency

It's now waiting game for my DL... Can anyone here tell me the usual waiting time for the decision letter? I used my agency's address in London, hoping it'll be faster.. Thanks!

hi!

are you from the phil? may i ask which agency are you from? my 2nd pack was also sent dec 23. I recently called nmc and the operator told me that since it was sent 23rd of dec, it will be received on jan 19 which is 4 days after the deadline for the old scheme. Do you have any news regarding yours?

Thanks.

Hi elajo,

Accdg to their website, the deadline is on the 31st of January.

The question is this: does it refer to the date they will be receiving our accomplished pack 2 or the date that all the documents are uploaded in their system.

Usually, it takes 15 days to upload it in their system after receiving our pack 2.

I hope it'll be faster this time. Can't wait for the DL as well.

Hi!

I called NMC, they said that they should receive the documents on the 31st of january.

Thanks elajo!

I got the same message from them as well. Thanks though!

Within 45-60 days according to some who already received their DL.

Hi Anakatevangelista

My timeline is very similar to yours and am just wondering if you have received you DL. I think I may have sent my pack 2 off a week before yours, and have yet to hear anything. But seems like we are on the same track. Which agency are you working with? Let me know how it is all going for you :)

Yes I'm from PH. I don't think there's no need for you to worry cause accdg to NMC's website theyve actually extended the submission of Pack 2 document s to Feb 28.

HI to everyone

I would like to ask if 1 yr experience as a volunteer nurse to a primary hospital (less than 100 bed capacity) is accepted to apply to NMC. Since, we also performed duties same as a staff nurse, but with some restriction and some duties must be under the supervision of our senior nurses.

If my volunteer experience is accepted I will try my luck to take Ielts exam as soon as possible

thank you in advance.

As per the NMC website

Practice requirements

At the time of the application, the applicant must have practised as a registered

nurse or midwife for at least 12 months (full time or the part-time equivalent) after qualifying. This post-registration experience must be relevant to the field of practice the applicant is applying for. Any practice that is not covered by registration cannot be considered for the requirement of 12-months post-registration experience.

If the applicant has been qualified for longer than this, they must have also practised for at least 450 hours in the previous three years. We define 'practising' as working in some capacity by virtue of their registration as a nurse or midwife. Practice can include administrative, supervisory, teaching, research and managerial roles as well as providing direct patient care. This can also include volunteer work as long as any practice is registered. If the applicant has not undertaken any duties as a registered nurse or midwife in the three years prior to making their application, they should contact us to discuss available options.

If the applicant is a midwife but has not practised midwifery in the five years prior to their application, they must do a return to midwifery practice course in their home country before they can apply to register with us.

Thank you so Much,,:) :)

Hi! I started my application before October 2014 and currently finishing my pack 2. My concern is that my employer is asking me to take the CBT instead of the ONP because my hospital is no longer hosting ONP. I am willing to take the CBT but I do not know what is the process for me in shifting from the old to the new system. I'm also worried that I might go back to square one in gathering my requirements which is such a tedious process because I used to work in Saudi Arabia and getting some of the requirements from them is taking too long. I will call NMC about this but if anybody here is going through the same thing or is familiar with the process, please do enlighten me. In the frequently asked questions part, this is the only answer they gave..."Arrangements are being discussed to allow applicants that are midway through the old process or those in possession of an ONP decision letter to go through the new overseas application process."
