I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.
But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.
I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.
The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.
I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.
Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?
Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?
Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?
I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.
I Gen88,I sent you a private msg but I don't know if it went through. I did receive my decisions letter.. but I seriously cannot go through and submit all my documents again, thats impossible

do you have a email address or Facebook I can contact you through, I have some questions as I am wanting to give up
Hey all and Dana, no I didn't get it! That's really ridiculous, I was told the opposite but orally not in writing.
To everyone on the thread: keep fighting. After almost 3 years of trying to get my registration, I have finally (sadly) decided to give up. For now my time and practice is more important than what they are putting me through. I'm not here to argue about the necessity of having stringent processes because I've already gone through that.
It's just a joke now and has become a huge disappointment in my life trying to practice there and I'm over it!
Of course more than happy to answer anyone's questions about the process and how the NMC work, but please only msg me if you can't find the answer already in this thread :) Msg me your email as my PMs on Allnurses don't send replies.
To those considering starting: please make sure you want this bad enough!
I hope my endless fighting ended up doing at least some good
Good luck everyone x
Hi everyone!
I'm basically a newbie here at allnurses. I already took and passed my IELTS (Academic Module) last February 14 and now, I am planning to upload my documents for the assessment of eligibility at NMC, however, I have a query though. If I upload the necessary documents for the Step One Application and NMC gives me the greenlight to sit my CBT, what will be the grace period for me to take the exam? I'm a nurse working here in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and I am planning to take my CBT on August in Manila. My worry is that, if I proceed with the Step One application now, and NMC will ask me to take the exam within just 3 months, I won't be able to do it because I am here in KSA.
Hope for your reply gals and guys! Thank you. :)

We are on the same boat..I am afraid to apply now because of the ATT, and I've read SCFHS is somehow delayed in forwarding the needed documents...

Hi. Im a Pinoy nurse applying for registration in the UK as well and im on the full assessment and application part of the new overseas registration. The moment you get your eligibility, which is on your online NMC account, you should sign up for a PearsonVue account on the link that will be sent to you by the NMC through email. Then, you can see in there (PV Account) that you have pre-approved exam which is the RN1 - Registered Nurse (Adult-General) with 2 attempts. Pardon me but I forgot the validity of the eligibility. I hope this helps.
Hi Everyone,
I have just passed my CBT and have a question about the assessment stage. I have previously submitted all my documents under the old scheme as that is when I first applied. Does anyone know if I have to resubmit everything, or will they use some of my old documents?
I have heard that they have let some people use the ones they already submitted and others they have made do everything all over again!!!
Thanks!!

I guess you have to submit another set of documents since all of it is barcoded. Im not quite sure about this so its better to ask the NMC about this matter.

There is a solution to your problems, find a different employer.
I submitted my pack 2 early january, I called the NMC yesterday and they told me my Decision letter will be arriving in 7-10 days.
Informed my employer and she did not require me to change to the new process.
