NMC Processing

Published

I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.

But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.

I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.

The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.

I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.

Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?

Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?

Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?

I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.

Hi, has anybody here experienced having lost documents that they sent to the NMC?

I sent an additional document which was received at the nmc march 9 (i tracked it) but it still hasn't been uploaded until now. I called and they said thay they are looking for the document. :( anybody had the same experience? Is it at all possible that they would lose documents they already received?

Unfortunatly I have heard of them losing documents before :(

...this is so incovenient if they lost it because I am hoping to still get a DL for an ONP. If I have to get it again I'm going to have to reapply and start the whole grueling process again.

Hi... I am new to this group. I am from India and is about to begin my NMC registration procedure. I have more than 2 years experience. I would like to know whether registration in each state where you practice is mandatory for NMC.

The number of years that you present to the nmc as experience should all be registered practice.

There is no such thing as states in the UK. NMC covers all of the UK which includes Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales so you have to register with the NMC to work as a RN in the UK

In fact I was asking about the registration in India. Here we have State Nursing Councils in each state. I wonder whether NMC would ask me to produce registration certificates from each state where I have worked.

I apologise, misread your post

As per the NMC handbook

If applicants have worked as a nurse or midwife in more than one country or state,we require them to be registered with the licensing authority or registration body inall the countries/states where they have worked. We will require verification fromthat authority regardless of the length of their employment.

Thank you Silverdragon. That was exactly what I was looking for.

Hi... have some more concerns.. I haven't worked for the past one year. In fact I was struggling to get through my IELTS. I have more than 2 years experience as a registered nurse in my country. Will this gap cause a problem? How can I give NMC my explanations? Please help me...

Hi!

I'm a newbie here and all posts really were helpful. I just want to ask how long should it take for the NMC to send the DL after submitting all the required documents for the 1st pack under the new scheme...I have been waiting for their reply for like 2 weeks and still haven't heard from them. I checked all the tracking numbers of all 3 packs that I sent (PRC, College, and from my employer) and I am getting a little frustrated on not knowing what is going on with my application. Thanks

Hi! I would like to ask if I can use the HR Staff of the hospital as my Reference in applying for NMC.

I just had an offer in one of the care homes in UK and I'm urged to take IELTS and soon apply for NMC. I hope I could get a help from you guys since you have more experience with this. Thank you very much!
