I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.
But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.
I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.
The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.
I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.
Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?
Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?
Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?
I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.
If in doubt check source which in this case would be the NMC.
This is as per the NMC for those trained outside the EU.
Practice requirements
At the time of the application, the applicant must have practised as a registered nurse or midwife for at least 12 months (full time or the part-time equivalent) after qualifying. This post-registration experience must be relevant to the field of practice the applicant is applying for. Any practice that is not covered by registration cannot be considered for the requirement of 12-months post-registration experience.
Hi! Im glad I was able to find the NMC thread here. That is also one of my questions, if NMC will accept my work experience as a volunteer and trainee nurse. All in all I have 2 years volunteer experience as it is very hard to apply as a nurse in PH. Please update me with your application.
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and like anyone else I'm also has pending application to nmc. is there anyone of you encountered uploading their documents and changed it but when you try to view the new uploaded docs you still get to see the old ones? I can't changed it. I tried many times but still with the same outcome. I can see on my screen that I uploaded the new docs because the new file name is being shown but still the old docs when I view it.
please help me with this.
Hi everyone. I'm also applying as a nurse in the UK and just started the assessment stage. All of my documents ( reference, prc, school documents) were already mailed just last week and I was about to upload my police cert, passport etc on my portal but when i tried to submit it says page cannot be displayed. explanation: the connection to the website was closed by the site or by one of its servers. blah blah blah. Does anyone here also experienced something like this? I hope you could help me with this. Thank you. :)
Hi there, I am just new here.
I applied in one of the agencies here in the Philippines, going to the UK.
I am a nurse currently working in the Department of Health, the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for ensuring access to basic public health services by all Filipinos through the provision of quality health care and regulation of all health services and products.
I am wondering if the NMC will accept such work experience despite that it is not in a hospital setting.
I hope someone can enlighten me on this.
Thank you in advance.

How long have you been working as a nurse at DOH? How was your application on the agency? Did you have IELTS yet?
Email me at [email protected] for your questions.

Hi! I'm new here and I'm still planning to apply for uk... My Ielts exam is scheduled this October 8 and I planned before to apply in an agency after the exam so that I can concentrate... However, as some of my co reviewees already mentioned that they already have an employer, I tried my luck applying today... However, I was disappointed with what one agency told me that my work experience is not eligible for applying as a nurse in uk. I had 1 yr and 5 mos work experience as staff Nurse and an additional 4 mos as a trainee.
However, I stopped working last july 2014 for personal reasons... The agent there told me my experience should be the most 6 mos recent and flatly told me I need to work again for at least a year...Is there some truth to what she had said?
