Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Guys, my approval letter from ahpra will expire this July. I haven't got 7.0 in all sub-tests in ielts. Is it ok to enroll for bridging program even if the letter will expire soon? I read the letter and it says " you have to COMPLETE the bridging course within 12mos from date of issue". Need your help guys.. I don't know if I will take the ielts exam again because I'm not sure if I can still take the bridging course if ever I will be able to pass the exam. Thank you..

Im just curious. Did AHPRA give you an eligibility even without the all 7 score in ielts?

from sept 2010-sept2011 AHPRA lifted the ielts requirement. i also was able to have my eligibility without an ielts.but then i just took it just in case i will be needing it,true enough, the schools are requiring ielts for the BP. so still ielts is a must..

That I am selected for their May intake. Still waiting for the confirmation of enrolment to be sent out thru email and post.

hi jb,

did you submit an Australian Federal Police criminal record check?

AHPRA requires those applicants that did get through on no IELTS to have IELTS requirement after bridging course (even if you found a school that would accept your application) to become a Registered nurse.

hi jb,

did you submit an Australian Federal Police criminal record check?

You can lodge your application in any AHPRA branch, you can have your bridging program in any state or school that offers bp, and u can get a job anywhere in Australia afterwards.
