Bridging Program in Australia

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much.

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi. Is there anyone who applied for a visa after March 23? I called the embassy's inquiry hotline and they told me that they don't have the 456 visa anymore. I asked the agent what type of visa to apply for and he said that they're not in a position to advice on that matter. Help anyone.=( i called them initially, to ask if i can change my tourist visa to 456.

Effective march 23, subclass 456 is no longer available so applicants can apply for the subclass 600 in lieu of 456. You can find all the details in DIAC's website.

However, i got a call from ACON if I'd be willing to take the april program and a business short stay visa is required.

Inform college of nursing that there were changes in the embassy's policies regarding visas..and that subclass 456,also called business short stay visa is no longer existing. You can now use subclass 600 or visitor visa. Anyway that is mentioned in DIAC website.

Or better yet, communicate with the case officer who handled your tourist visa application then maybe he/she can tell you if you can change your visa status.

No.. Since the changes are effective on the 23rd of March. So those who applied past this date are the ones affected.

The interviewer will ask you about your work experience and will have you solve computations e.g. simple basic drug calculations. Lonsdale interview is simpler compared to other school interviews I've been through.
