NEW GRADS: ATTs received yet??

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

I've posted this message in the nursing student forums, but since I live in NC I wanted to get NC student nurse perspectives...

My grades were in on May 11. I've heard from my school's DON that our transcripts/verifications were sent to the NCBON on May 18th. I still have yet to receive my ATT and thus cannot schedule my NCLEX exam. I've called the NCBON and they told me while they have received my school verification, they have not yet been entered into their database (and will not be for 1-2 weeks). Is this normal? I was hoping to be licensed within a month of graduation (is that unreasonable??)

To any recent grads: what school did you graduate from, and how long was it before you received your ATT? How long between graduation/pinning and when you were licensed???

In NC - do we have any authority to begin work as a graduate nurse or must we be licensed as an official "RN" (in other words, can we not go through orientation if we aren't an RN yet, so long as we don't care for patients directly???)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Quick results are available two BUSINESS days after the exam, not 48 hours. The difference for me is four days, as I took the exam on a Thursday. Friday, Monday are the next two business days. Sucks for me, huh?!?

I read that some have been able to retreive result on Sat/Sun as the computer does not take a weekend. But, some people outside NC were able to get result p 24 hours. I had to wait 48 hours after the end of my exam.

Thanks for the tip...

You were right. My results WERE available, despite the info sheet on "quick results" that Pearson gave me at my exam. They said not to even bother checking prior to two business days, but there my results were, at 10am on Saturday morning...

I PASSED!!!!!!

I wouldn't be so sure about the business day thing, My friends and classmates called the phone number (the 900) on Saturday and Sunday and got their results!!! Good Luck!!!

Congrats to you! I would not have suggested you use quick results if I wasn't sure that you could get them in 48 hours. Everyone I know who tested and was licensed through NC could get their results in 48 hours whether it was the weekend or not.

Congratulations. Apparently the long drive in frustrating traffic paid off. I'm still waiting for my ATT.

:lol2: That is hilarious! Just what I need to take my mind off of the ridiculous wait. I just got of the phone with a representative from NC BON and nearly lost my mind. This is absolutely ridiculous. They have one person processing information for countless individuals from schools across the state of NC as well as students like myself who attended schools in a different state.

Sorry, but I took my boards almost 20 yrs ago. The old 2 day, paprer & pencil ttest that you waited 4-6 months to take, then waited about 4 months for the results.
