NEW GRADS: ATTs received yet??

Published

I've posted this message in the nursing student forums, but since I live in NC I wanted to get NC student nurse perspectives...

My grades were in on May 11. I've heard from my school's DON that our transcripts/verifications were sent to the NCBON on May 18th. I still have yet to receive my ATT and thus cannot schedule my NCLEX exam. I've called the NCBON and they told me while they have received my school verification, they have not yet been entered into their database (and will not be for 1-2 weeks). Is this normal? I was hoping to be licensed within a month of graduation (is that unreasonable??)

To any recent grads: what school did you graduate from, and how long was it before you received your ATT? How long between graduation/pinning and when you were licensed???

In NC - do we have any authority to begin work as a graduate nurse or must we be licensed as an official "RN" (in other words, can we not go through orientation if we aren't an RN yet, so long as we don't care for patients directly???)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Graduated May 12th-applications sent in on 14th-received ATT on the 19th-tested on the 30th. We had a small class maybe that's your hold-up.

Did you attend and apply in NC???

My class graduated with 45 - not a large class. I think the hold-up is that we graduated late - every school I know of in this area (central NC) graduated the week before us. :(

No I graduated in Illinois. I have been told that Illinois has alot of red tape to go through in order to get your ATT. I haven't had a problem with that. Now I am just waiting and praying for my results. Good luck! Hope you get the ATT soon.

have you been checking the ncbon web site?

my att was e-mailed the next morning after the bon posted my school requirement had been met.

I have been checking at least once each day and sometimes 2. NCBON is more than likely bogged down in paper work with all the new graduates. Wish I could help them do the paper work!

I have been checking the NCBON site daily. I was told almost two weeks ago that yes, my school did send my transcripts - they just haven't been entered into their database yet.

Yes Cay, it is ALL paperwork. I just left a "complaint" on their website (there was a link for it) and told them that they were absurd for not hiring more help during this time of year and "blaming" us students for bogging them further by inquiring about our status of applications. It's like they were surpised. "Oh, graduation time - look at all these NCLEX applications?!?! Where did they come from???"

DUH.

I live in NC but attended school in SC. Regardless, my paper work was in and my school verification has not been processed. Are they done in alphabetical order or something? What is going on? I have interviewed for a position in Neuro ICU and the manager really wants to hire me but she's afraid she will get stuck if she holds the job just for me. I just have to pray that it is still available whenever I should receive authorization to test.

I heard from Scott Souffrant, NCLEX coordinator for NCBON, today. TNUp2Jen, apparently your complaints paid off. After all this time, I find out today that my transcripts are missing the graduation date and degree. I just wanted to cry. You should be eligible very soon.

The NCBON just updated my status...I'm hoping to receive my ATT today. I know for a fact that my verification has been at the Board for two weeks.

From what I hear, the send notice to Pearsonvue pretty quickly after updating their database as "received" or "complete". We'll see!
