Duke ABSN Fall 2014 Hopefuls

U.S.A. North Carolina

I applied to the Duke SON ABSN program for the Fall of 2014. Anyone else out there who is applying for the same cohort? I saw that last year, the applicants got their interview/Duke Days letters at the end of January... hopefully we'll hear back soon! Good luck to everyone!

Thank you green126, I won't give up and I will sit back and let what's going to happen, happen!

I have an interview with Duke on February 14th. Since I am flying all the way from California does anyone have any insight into the acceptance rate of those who interview?

Wow that's a coincidence haha, I went to school in San Diego also! :) So I've lived in California my whole life and am too looking forward to mixing it up a little bit. Thanks, and good luck to you as well! Any idea which school you would pick if you get into both UPenn and Duke?

Wow that is even crazier! What a small world haha I have also lived in California my whole life but I feel like traveling to new places only makes you a more well rounded person and could be advantageous especially working with people in the medical world! I honestly have no idea which one I would pick. I am honestly just praying I get into at least one, they both would be a dream! I would go with my heart definitely.

Hi Sarly. I am also going for an interview on February 14th. I think in past threads, I say that cohort was around 75 and they interview around 150. But I haven't seen anything else really....

At Duke days they provided us with some #s from previous cohorts. For the fall they typically interviewed around 160. Offers were made to approximately 100 of those. For the newest spring cohort 66 people enrolled.

Are you currently a student in the Duke ABSN program?

Do you know when we would possibly find out if we have been accepted after the interview?

Yes, I can answer any questions you have about Duke Days. I can try answer some about the program itself but I've been a ABSN student for a month :) I do know they have mentioned they are making changes to the curriculum, so that is something you'll want to pay attention to when they speak about it.

For us the last Duke Days was July 29 and decisions for people accepted during the 1st round were release on August 23. People accepted during the second round I believe had to wait another month after that.

Specializes in Pediatric CICU.

I just withdrew my application, so I hope that opens up a spot to someone on the waitlist. Best of luck to everyone! :)

How have you like the program so far?

Another question. How were Duke Days? And I kinda want to keep some of it a mystery lol...but what advice would you give about preparing for the interview?

If you have an offer somewhere else, but Duke is your first choice, would it be possible to know if you've been accepted before a certain date?
