I applied to the Duke SON ABSN program for the Fall of 2014. Anyone else out there who is applying for the same cohort? I saw that last year, the applicants got their interview/Duke Days letters at the end of January... hopefully we'll hear back soon! Good luck to everyone!
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to drop a line and let all of those on the wait list know I withdrew my application to Duke. I was ready to go to Duke Days on the 21st, but after taking a long, hard look at the cost and length of program, I decided to withdraw. It was a very difficult and sad decision for me, but I don't have $200k...and I knew if I went to campus, it would have been even harder. I hope this opens up a space for another candidate! I wish you all luck in your interviews and decisions.

Just wanted to correct one thing, the total program cost isn't $200K. While I know there will be a tuition increase I believe the total cost (including living expenses) quoted to us was ~$104K. Although they do acknowledge the #1 reason people don't attend is due to cost. I certainly wouldn't have been able to attend without scholarships I received.

@ BlueDevilNC--Thanks for clarifying, I was actually looking at cost for ABSN and MSN combined...Good luck everyone!!
Gotcha FWIW at least from the alum that have spoken to us to very few go straight into an MSN full time. Most seem to work for a year or two and then do the MSN part time and their employer covers part (or most of) the tuition. One alum I know was able to finish the MSN in two years while working since some of the ABSN credits counted toward the MSN.

Hello everyone!
New to this thread but I too was going to attend Duke Days tomorrow (was flying out from California). Hopefully we can find an alternative time to attend a later Duke Days.
Cheers!
