i cannot live in a world where this is true. if anyone ever finds poopylickles, let me know, because i'm moving to the south pole. or possibly saturn.
at least you won't be there alone. i know i'll buy the first one-way ticket available!
i know i've posted this on another thread, but now i have more to add. my cousin has five daughters:
somar-lyn marie (pronounced summer)
autumn lee (that's her first name) rose
destiny storm
grace ellen (that's all a first name) nicole
kierna rain
my bff and her hubby had one heckuva time agreeing on a name for their baby. he wanted either zephyra or d'artagnon, depending on the gender. praise the lord they ended up with arianna!
i am not a fan of...unusual names, but i took care of a julzae and i think that name is beautiful. probably wouldn't go with that name for my own daughter, but i like it.
i attended school with a cieann (see-ann), figure skated with a girl named katewatson (yes, that was her first name), played tennis in high school with the unfortunate muhammed hussein, one of my favorite waitresses at my go-to spot during college was named bushra and went by bush, my ex-boyfriend had a friend named shasta, and then there were the siblings goodwin, kizzy and quay.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again…jessica lynne sure is dull, but i think i’ll keep it!

There was actually a name card taped onto the baby's isolette with this name on it! Quite a few of our nurses took pictures of it :)

We aren't allowed to take pictures of name cards.
We had a family who named their 5 kids after cars. Our patient was a boy named Calibur.
It wasn't any official name card. Just something the parents made and put there. Otherwise, we obviously can't take pictures of the cards with actually id info on the baby!

My mom was a L&D RN for many years and a woman gave birth on Thanksgiving morning. she named him Cranberry Turkey. My mom and her co-workers tried in vain to get her to reconsider.
You can only hope he goes by "C.T."
I've also heard of a baby girl named Placenta.

i know this is bad, but i don't just ask what the baby's first name is anymore. i just get so depressed with all these really stupid names, i just don't want to know what the name is. but, alast, the parent feels the need to tell me, soooooo, i have to smile and "oh, okay, how do you you want to spell that?"
i know i have been a nicu nurse too long because even the grandparents have stupid made up names now. once i had a primary baby for 4 months whose mother( and i say that loosely) had been whisked off to prison for murder before she named him. it was nice because i gave him a nice respectable name while he was in my care, so the county worker and foster mom just kept it.:1luvu:
I took care of a baby named Awnasti today. It is pronounced like honesty.
how true, how true!!!!!
