Stony Brook Basic BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello everyone!

I applied to Stony Brook's Basic (2-year) BSN program 3 weeks a go and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

If you are:

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current SBU student, I'd love to hear from you!

Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

Thank you for the info Dollface.....I was accepted into the nursing program there with a scholarship. I know its expensive but if I don't hear good news from Stonybrook.....which is what it is looking like right now.............I will go there.

@nursebydesign thanks for your words of encouragement and congrats for getting into the program :) I've been accepted into another ABSN program so more than likely I'm going there

I wish you all the best of luck and maybe one day we'll end up working together :)

Did anyone hear anything from Stonybrook today? I still haven't heard anything, is this normal?

Hey guys i still have not heard anything either. And yes ashe its normal or at least it was for the one year program for a round of acceptances then another round to come out 2 days later. I guess they do it so they can see how many people take the spots they are given. But last time it was when we had not heard of anyone hearing any thing for like a week or so, that the remaining people who had not heard were put on the wait list.

Question to all those accepted. did you apply to the one year as well? Im just trying to find more patterns in the decision process. Like rejected to the 1 yr or wait listed but then accepted to the 2 year. or the other way around.

Side note...please life, fate, god, whatever (lol) grant all of us still waiting the patience we need to get through this!

Hi Kaywal,

I only applied to the two year, so I'm not sure how their acceptance process progresses. I'm sure you will hear something soon!

Best of luck!

No news over here either

Thanks nursebydesign! :) we are all hangin in there!

Hang in ther BioD, I'm sure it will be soon (and good)!

nursebydesign what does you solar account look like as of now? are there any fees or initial deposits we need to pay?

I have all sorts of new tabs, but I think once you make the deposit to hold your spot ($150), the nursing school school will "link" you to their "stuff". Meaning, maybe they will have your bill, schedule, etc. I'm just speculating. My bill as of now is 0, which I know is not right.

I have to put my deposit in tonight, although I "accepted", maybe then there will be more options.

I accepted the offer but i do not see any deposit.....

Keep hunting around.

Look for the "New Student" option. Underneath it, there will be a link to "Pay Initial Deposits/Fee". Click the one that you want (there were two options, one for just tuition, and one for housing and tuition)

Congrats btw!
