  1. i also have an interview for the new grad program at mather...any advice about the interview process would be greatly appreciated..also any input on the work environment/experience at this hospital?
  2. 4 days classes, one day of clinicals depending if you get a Thursday clinical or a weekend. Friday classes don't start until November. Some ppl in my class work and are okay. I, on the other hand couldn't do it. I couldn't juggle all of the work and be at my job on my game without thinking about how much studying I had to get done.. It really depends on the person.
  3. Oh and pathology is on Fridays! So Friday was patho 10-12 then pharm 1-3 (pharm was weds 1-3 also)..any questions feel free to ask!!
  4. Mon fundamentals 9-12, not 2-12
  5. I am not sure if you guys will have the same schedule as we had but this was my fall schedule: Mon: fundamentals of nursing 2-12...health assement 1-4...bio math 4-6 ( this class only meets a couple of times) Tues: fundamentals/health assessment lab 9-4 Weds: fundamentals 9-12..perspectives in nursing 1-4 (this class ended in early November) Thurs, sat or sun: clinicals (depending on what you get and you will either get 8 hr or 12 he clinicals) Health care policy meets 3 times one specifics dates and the time was 4-6... The first week in November we also started pathology 10-12 and then pharmacology from 1-3 Parmacology was 2 days a week and switched off with perspectives once it ended. You guys may have a different schedule tho so don't go by what mine was...just giving you a ballpark of my semester last fall..congrats to everyone accepted!! It's an amazing program!
  6. I'm in the bsn program now and I know how you feel!! We didn't find out until May 10th last year! Hopefully it will be earlier for you guy, I know it's torture waiting
  7. I am not really sure, maybe not as many males apply? Or maybe gender is not a factor? We are a very diverse class...wide variety of ages and ethnicities..there are classmates from other states, from LI, from upstate... nobody had rlly been able to crack the admissions code lol but I will say that all of us rlly have a passion to become a nurse
  8. I would say there are about 15 males in my class of 72
  9. Also- there are no weekend or night classes, but you can choose to do your clinicals on the weekends rather than during the week. That will leave Thursdays free.
  10. Evadney77 and ozzy84- thank you! I have to say, the day I got my acceptance letter was one of the best days of my life. The program is great, I love it! It's very hard and alot of work, but so worth it. The faculty is just amazing and they are so supportive, it really is a great program. I'm crossing my fingers for u guys I know this waiting process is treacherous!
  11. I don't believe it's too difficult to get housing I know classmates that transferred in and got it..as far as volunteer work while in the program- it is a great idea but in my opinion I wouldn't make any decisions until you start the program..your first semester you will take 24 credits..fundamentals of nursing, health assessment, biomath, health care policy, perspectives of nursing, pathology and pharmacology..i had to quit my job it was too much.. I know ppl that did it with a job and volunteering but it was just too stressful for me..it's a very heavy courseload.
  12. Questions regarding the seats in the program- there are a total of 72 of us i believe, with over 700 applicants. Our decisions were delayed, i did not find out until May 10th. However, last year, they were going through the re-accreditation process which was a reason for the delay. The prior year heard mid-April. Good luck to you all!
  13. Thank you!! I just finished my first semester today and let me tell you, the pharmacology test I took today was like the hardest test I have ever taken in my life..thankfully I get a break for 2 weeks..as far as solar goes: you get a password once you submit your application and u find out about acceptance through solar and they send you an email..we didn't find out until may, so it is a long process...and a 3.6 is awesome! If you need any guidance on the application process please feel free to ask! Good luck!
  14. no problem! Yes, I definetly think you should apply to both programs, I know some people in my class did. I went to suffolk for my 57 credits and I had a 4.0. However, not everyone in the program is 4.0 students, dont get discouraged!! Its a great program and I wish you luck!
